Overwatch kicked off its Winter Wonderland 2019 event on December 10, and there are seven new skins available for heroes – including what could be one of the greatest Soldier: 76 outfits yet.
Along with the start of the seasonal event, a significant patch also went live from the PTR that contains changes for Orisa, Moira, D.Va and a number of other heroes.
The event runs from December 10 to January 2, 2020, giving players roughly three weeks to try and collect all the cosmetics they want – but players can take a peek at all the new skins below.
Jötunn Doomfist – 3000
Doomfist’s new Winter Wonderland skin for 2019 is named “Jötunn,” which are beings from Norse mythology – and it looks like something straight out of God of War.
His giant robot fist and arm have been replaced with ice, and he’s even been given a Viking helmet and beard along with glowing eyes to complete the other-worldly look.
Mountain Man McCree – 3000
McCree’s latest Winter Wonderland skin is definitely a great one, and even brings back memories of the first snow stage in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Jesse definitely looks like he’s been up in the hills for a while with a flowing white beard (that’s two beards so far, for those keeping track) and a belt buckle that mysteriously reads “BAFM”.
Just what “BAFM” could mean exactly remains unknown, but Overwatch fans will probably waste no time trying to figure out its meaning, like with his past skins.
Rat King Reaper – 3000
Reaper’s “Rat King” skin might not make sense at first for a holiday skin until you remember that the character is the main antagonist in The Nutcracker ballet, a holiday favorite.
His mask has been turned into a rat’s face, and he even has little ears attached to complete the rodent look, along with royal purple vestments fit for rodent royalty.
Back before Winter Wonderland 2018, fans discovered what looked like a Rat King Junkrat skin on a shirt in the official Blizzard store – but it turns out they went with Reaper instead.

Rime Sigma – 3000
We’ve known about Rime Sigma since the skin was first revealed at BlizzCon 2019 during an Overwatch developer’s panel.
The icy skin looks like something pulled out of World of Warcraft, and should fit in perfectly with Winter Wonderland’s snowy maps.
Ugly Sweater 76 – Weekly Challenge Reward
Soldier’s amazing new Ugly Sweater skin is the first of three Winter Wonderland 2019 skins that are only available by completing the weekly mini-challenges during the event.
The good news is that these challenges aren’t that tough: all players have to do is win nine games total to unlock the skin featured each week.
If you want Ugly Sweater 76 though, be sure to log on and get your nine wins in before December 17, when the skin will disappear for at least the next year.
Holly Moira – Weekly Challenge Reward
Moria’s new “Holly” skin is the second weekly reward skin for Winter Wonderland 2019, and again, can only be unlocked during the second week of the event.
Blizzard actually gave Moira green hair for this one and a gold eye plate – a mirror opposite of her usual red hair and silver face metal.
Snow Angel Mercy – Weekly Challenge Reward
Finally we come to Mercy, whose “Snow Angel” skin is the final weekly challenge reward and available during the last week of Winter Wonderland 2019.
Come January 2, Snow Angel Mercy and the rest of the winter Overwatch skins will go back into the Blizzard vault until next year, so be sure to grab all the skins you want or need before then.
