The Overwatch League Grand Finals MVP was awarded to London Spitfire’s Park ‘Profit’ Joon-yeong.
Profit was deemed the most valuable player in London Spitfire’s 2-0 win over Philadelphia Fusion in the grand finals.
The DPS player was responsible for several of the greatest highlight plays of London’s win, most notably pulling off an incredible five-kill on Volskaya Industries to end the first series.
As well as coming up with big plays in crucial moments, Profit also demonstrated his consistency and versatility, putting in world-class performances on a variety of heroes, from classic main-stays like Tracer to the newly-reworked Hanzo, and even showing off arguably the best Brigitte in the world.
London Spitfire only conceded a single map in their grand finals win, claiming the first series 3-1 before dominating the second 3-0 to become the very first Overwatch League champions.
A separate MVP award was given for the regular season, which went to New York Excelsior support Bang ‘JJoNak’ Sung-hyeon. Though JJoNak was undoubtedly a worthy winner, Profit himself was arguably overlooked in the regular season, not even receiving a place in the all-stars event that will take place August 25-26.

Profit himself, however, was very clear about just how good he is.

With the Overwatch League not returning until 2019, it’s possible that this might be Profit’s last competitive appearance of the year, as he will neither compete at the all-stars event nor represent South Korea in the 2018 Overwatch World Cup.
