Overwatch 2 players s9mm, mikeyy and ojee were exposed by an anonymous account for allegedly sending racist DMs on Discord.
The Overwatch 2 competitive scene has started its revival era as more organizations return following the OWL’s dissolution. With new teams entering the scene, players are also being signed to new rosters.
However, three players may have lost their chance at competing at the highest level due to alleged comments made in private – those being s9mm, mikeyy and ojee.
A Twitter/X user by the name of Viewer revealed that an anonymous burner account came into their stream to show them Discord messages sent by the three players on February 29, which included a multitude of racial slurs.
These leaked DMs came out only hours before the roster lock deadline for Overwatch 2, meaning that M80, who had signed s9mm, will now need to find a replacement.

All three players had previously played during the days of the OWL. Mikeyy and s9mm played for the San Francisco Shock, while ojee previously played for the Atlanta Reign at the tail end of 2022.

“Recent information has come to light that does not align with our team values,” M80 said in a post on Twitter/X. “We have decided to part ways with s9mm from our Overwatch 2 team. We appreciate your understanding and continued support.”
M80 had announced they would be entering Overwatch 2 esports on February 29, in which they revealed that they had signed s9mm to their team. However, just over 24 hours later, s9mm’s comments have rendered him teamless.
“Immediate and proper action,” said one commenter. “Player behavior was VERY immoral.”
Outside of an announcement of s9mm’s departure, no new updates have been given by the organization. This includes what may be ahead for the organization’s future in Overwatch 2 and who they will be replacing s9mm with before matches begin.
