Overwatch players are pushing for the devs to finally add Death Comms after seeing the popular CoD feature in action in OW2.
Since the launch of Overwatch 2, the devs have been trying to stomp out toxicity by cracking down on voice and chat abuse – sometimes to extreme levels leaving players to be banned unfairly.
Despite the Overwatch team’s strategy to shut down voice chat shenanigans and inappropriate behavior, players are rallying to have one of CoD’s most hilariously toxic features added to their game.
Being able to hear what your opponent is saying right after you kill them can be downright hilarious and for many Overwatch 2 players, it would be the perfect addition to the hero shooter.
OW2 players demand Call of Duty Death Comms
In a post making rounds on X, the OWCavalry page took inspiration from Call of Duty’s “Last Words” feature that showed what enemies are saying in their mics after you kill them to showcase how it would look like in Overwatch.
The concept video shows a Kiriko player take down a Soldier 76, followed by showing what the DPS user could be saying after dying to the support.
For this example, OWCavalry used a sound bite from Twitch streamer Metro, taken from a broadcast where he ended up dying to a Kirko player and went on a rant about it.

“These last twenty seconds showed everything that is wrong in Overwatch!” Metro complained in the soundbite.
Sure enough, the comments were filled by fans agreeing that the feature would be a good one, albeit better off as optional.
“It would be so funny if they added this,” one said.

“Just like in CoD. Really fun to hear the salt,” another chimed in.
Not everyone was convinced the devs would be bold enough to add the feature. Someone else remarked, “the community is so sensitive and would report every 10 seconds especially feeders dying nonstop.”
So far, Blizzard hasn’t announced any plans to bring this CoD feature to Overwatch 2, but seeing how many people are in favor of it, maybe one day we could see it tested out.
