The latest Overwatch event is upon us as Cole Cassidy’s New Blood Challenge is now live. Happening just after the hero’s name change, it gives players the chance to unlock a brand new skin, and more. Here’s everything you need to know.
The biggest Overwatch news of the last few months hasn’t been updates on the sequel, but instead the rebranding of the cowboy DPS formerly known as McCree.
Now officially known in-game as “Cole Cassidy“, Overwatch launched a new mini-event for the hero, that was in development before the name change even happened, and won’t celebrate it, according to devs.
From when it all winds down to how you can unlock everything on offer, here’s all there is to know.

Overwatch’s New Blood Challenge will run for exactly two weeks from November 9 — 23. During that time players have the chance to unlock a new hero icon, spray, and skin.
You’ll need to get in quick and play some games as the unique rewards won’t be accessible after November 23.
Cassidy’s New Blood Challenge Overwatch rewards
First up are the unique in-game items on offer throughout the event.

All you need to do is play a set number of games during the New Blood Challenge to unlock each reward.
It’s worth noting, however, that wins count as two games played. Moreover, bonus items can also be unlocked just by watching Twitch streams for a few hours.

New lore or not, the New Blood Challenge is set to fill the gap between Halloween Terror and the upcoming Winter Wonderland event. The latter of which usually begins early in December each year.
