As the Second Season of the Overwatch League draws steadily closer, Blizzard is slowly sharing more details about the upcoming competition with fans.
On Wednesday, February 6, the League updated it’s website to include maps, along with every match listing.
From looking at each matchup, it appears that the matches will all go Control (King of the Hill) for the first map, then Hybrid, followed by Assault (2CP), then finally Escort.
Map five, the tie breaker map, is no longer set, and will now be one of the control maps not played in the first game of the match – so if a team plays on Ilios for their first map, it would be unavailable for the tie breaker, but Busan or Nepal would.
We don’t know how the map choice will be determined yet, though: it could fall to the losers of the last map to pick, or it could be completely random.
The maps for stage one are listed below, by type:
Control (King of the Hill)
- Ilios
- Busan
- Nepal
Hybrid

On /r/CompetitiveOverwatch, user p2deeee figured out how many times each map would be played in Stage One, and shared the information in the following table:
For the first week of matches, fans should expect to see a lot of Volskaya since there are 8 matches that include the map.
Overwatch recently introduced a new map to the PTR: Paris, but we probably won’t see that in play until later on in the season.
The Overwatch League’s second season starts on February 14, with a rematch of last year’s Grand Finals between the Philadelphia Fusion and the London Spitfire.
