One creative Overwatch workshop mode gives players the ability to spray out their own ice track while playing as Mei.
Blizzard’s release of the Overwatch Workshop has given fans the chance to create pretty much whatever they would like insider the Overwatch realm.
Some players have created new characters, others have adjusted the current crop of in-game heroes, while a number of creators have made new game modes. It the new selection of modes that have taken the fancy of many fans – with this new idea centered around Mei carving out a niche of its own.
In a post to the Overwatch subreddit, Mornedii, showed off their new idea – Mei’s Ice Skating. Now, the idea isn’t confined to an area that you’d label as an Ice Rink but instead, players can traverse the different in-game maps with their ice spraying abilities and create their own path.
There isn’t a limit on the amount of Ice you can spray either, with the weapon being given unlimited ammo in the mode. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t do damage and eliminate your friends.
You can try and finish them off with a few blows but that won’t really impact a players health all that much. Build up some significant speed, however, and you’ll be able to eliminate them with a killer punch. The faster you go, the more damage you will do.
However, there are a few kinks to the mode that have to be figured out but according to Mornedii, those problems are on Blizzard’s end. As it stands, having over eight players in a game will cause the server to crash but that is being looked into as the new idea evolves.
