Overwatch streamer Brandon ‘Seagull’ Larned accidentally exposed a player who didn’t want their boyfriend to know they were online.
Viewers might come to Twitch for particular personalities, but it’s also the case that the random people that streamers interact with in games are briefly given an audience, sometimes a rather large one.
For one player in particular, that spotlight might have proven a little costly. At the time that KittenKisses ran into Seagull in a match, an audience is exactly the last thing they wanted.
In fact, they were attempting the very opposite – to remain hidden from their boyfriend, by appearing offline. Unfortunately, it turns out their boyfriend was a Seagull fan.
“Hey Seagull, I’m appearing offline because I don’t want to play with my boyfriend, and he’s watching your stream and now he knows that I’m queueing with somebody else,” KittenKisses explained.

Seagull was quick to apologize for the player’s misfortune, while other members of the team offered advice ranging from “apologize right now” to “ask him to marry you.”
KittenKisses did at least give a good account of themselves while in the spotlight, helping Seagull’s team secure a victory, although they never elaborated on the situation so it’s unclear how much of an impact it may have had on their relationship.
