One Overwatch player decided to make Doomfist much more powerful by simply allowing his Rocket Punch to move in any direction.
Currently, Doomfist’s Rocket Punch only moves 6.5 to 20 meters (depending on the charge) laterally from wherever it’s activated. To get some height, Doom players have to rely on his Rising Uppercut ability.
Not content with Doom’s current limitations, Overwatch player ‘Therister‘ took to the Workshop to see what they could do about it – and the results are impressive, if not a little over the top.
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
Instead of being confined to one measly plane of movement, Doomfist can now target enemies above or below him for destruction with his fist, and not even Pharah is safe.
In trappi’s mod, Doomfist’s Rocket Punch goes in literally any direction the player is aimed. Ana poking you from a rooftop? Not a problem at all, any more.
Thanks to the video Therister posted, we get to see a Doomfist using the improved ability to take out a Pharah in the wild. Who needs a hitscan?

The only thing that seems to be able to slow down the new super Doomfist is another super Doomfist, so there’s always the possibility that they could just distract each other long enough for the attacking team to get something done.
The Workshop – where Overwatch dreams come true
Since the Workshop came out earlier in 2019, there has been a ton of original Overwatch content produced, including everything from training modes for various heroes to mini games that almost look like completely different genres from the FPS title.
Overwatch even included the Workshop-made mode Hero Gauntlet into the Arcade lineup for the 2019 Anniversary event, where it was a hit with players.
There’s already been a lot of cool stuff that’s come out of the Workshop in the few months it’s been available, and it will be exciting to see what comes next.
