Echo’s first-ever Halloween Terror event is right around the corner, and one player decided to muse over what the newest hero could have in store cosmetic-wise with an awesome holiday skin idea.
The high-flying DPS hero was first released in April 2020, and as such, she hasn’t been around for the game’s fan-favorite Halloween Terror event just yet.
We are officially in October now, which means the more artistically inclined Overwatch players among us will be rolling out all kinds of spooky skin ideas for their favorite heroes.
Reddit user haydnc95 decided to stick with Echo’s aerobatic theme and turn the Omnic AI into a vampire bat with a skin idea they call “Gothic Bat” Echo.
The hero’s wings have, appropriately enough, been turned into bat wings – a feature we wouldn’t be too surprised to see appear on an actual Halloween skin for her, whenever it comes out.

Jewels and fur accent the rest of the skin, along with some wicked bat designs that make you understand why the called it “Gothic.” Maybe her focusing beam could also have little bats flying out of it? Just a thought.
We still don’t have any idea if Echo will be getting her own Halloween Terror skin this year or not, but we probably don’t have too long a wait to find out.
There’s still no official word on when Overwatch’s Halloween Terror event will kick off in 2020, but in the past, it usually starts sometime in the second week of October with skin teasers and the like coming a few days early.
Things get a bit more tricky trying to predict if Echo will be one of the lucky heroes to get a Halloween skin though. For instance, Ashe received a skin in 2019, but Sigma didn’t, even though both were released in the year leading to the event.
So, even though she’s still the game’s resident shiny new hero, there’s no guarantee (yet) that we’ll get to see Echo with bat wings soaring around on the Halloween maps.
