Seoul Dynasty have released three players ahead of Overwatch League Season Two.
The Dynasty announced that Gong ‘Miro’ Jin-hyeok, Moon ‘Gido’ Gi-do, and Choi ‘Wekeed’ Seok-woo will not have their contracts extended for the second year of the Overwatch League.
Most notable of the departing trio is arguably Miro, one of the founding members of the Lunatic-Hai squad that became the Seoul Dynasty. Miro was one of the iconic players of early Overwatch, particularly known for revolutionizing Winston play, but in the Overwatch League he struggled to replicate his previously dominant form.
Miro’s replacement at main tank has already been confirmed, with Seoul making the headline acquisition of the off-season so far by adding Baek ‘Fissure’ Chan-hyung. An MVP candidate whose play helped make LA Gladiators one of the deadliest teams in the league, in Fissure Seoul may once again have an iconic tank at the front of the team.

The changes come after an underwhelming season for the Dynasty, who entered the league as one of the favorites. With Lunatic-Hai having been the most successful team of the pre-OWL era, Seoul was expected to be vying for the inaugural OWL title, but they ultimately finished in eighth place, missing out on the season playoffs and never reaching a stage playoff.
Any additional trades with existing teams will need to be completed by September 9, when any players who haven’t had their contracts extended will automatically become free agents. Season One teams will have to wait until the exclusive signing window for expansion teams ends on October 8 to sign free agents.
