Halloween is fast approaching, which means that Overwatch’s special Halloween Terror event is coming up soon. Here’s everything we know so far and what you should expect for the spooky season.
The Halloween Terror event first started in 2016 and has quickly become one of the favorite events to circle in on your calendar. With some of the best skins in the game to the glorious PVE mode Junkenstein’s Revenge, the event itself is a lot of fun.
As always, we fully expect Junkenstein’s Revenge to return. Just as with the Archives missions, players in groups of four will need to work together to defeat waves of zombie omnics and bosses from damaging the Eichenwalde castle walls.
There’s also the “Endless” mode that keeps getting harder and harder for players with bosses respawning constantly and the difficulty ramping up.
In the 2020 Summer Games event, we saw some slight changes to the Lucio Ball formula, so it’s possible that Blizzard does something to spice up Junkenstein’s Revenge and pump some new life into it.
For skins, we can only hope that Sigma, Echo and Baptiste are given some sort of Halloween skin as new heroes.

Additionally, neither D.Va or Genji have had a Halloween skin yet, so maybe this is the year that Blizzard finally decides to show them some love.
In the past, the event has begun October 11, 10, 9 and 15 from 2016-2019. Seeing as Blizzard likes to begin events on Tuesdays, going by these past start dates, it’s likely that the event will begin on October 13.
However, they could surprise us and aim for an October 6 start, though that seems unlikely.
The 13th already seems like the perfect number to start the event on, so be sure to keep your eyes open for any spooky news in the next couple of weeks.
