Félix ‘xQc’ Lengyel suffered a ridiculous example of the power of crowd control during a ranked Overwatch game.
Crowd control has been the topic of much discussion among the Overwatch community recently, with many players feeling that the prevalence of CC abilities has become too high.
The most popular target for criticism is Brigitte, who has both a stun and a knock-back along with her shield and healing capabilities, but in this case she wasn’t involved in the unfortunate sequence of stuns that locked down xQc.
The series of events started with a hook from Roadhog, which xQc managed to walk away from before being nano-boosted by a friendly Ana. After looking for a charge, however, xQc found himself immediately slept by the enemy Ana.
Before he could get up, xQc was then hit by the enemy Reinhardt’s Earthshatter. Having survived that, he looked to rejoin the fight but was hooked yet again by Roadhog.

Having turned to deal with the Roadhog, xQc got off a charge that successfully pinned the Roadhog, only to be knocked down by the enemy Reinhardt’s charge, and finally dying.
xQc might have a reputation for rather extreme reactions in-game, but in this case it’s hard to imagine many players wouldn’t have been similarly frustrated.
