A new Palworld update has arrived to the controversial game, and this time, it includes a massive collaboration with Terraria.
The crossover between Palworld and Terraria is one of the most anticipated this year. It was originally announced in November 2024; however, no further details were shared by Pocketpair.
Months later, a post on Palworld’s official X account confirmed that the release date would arrive within a few days and gave players a glimpse of what they could expect from Tides of Terraria with a new trailer.
Now that the update is live, here are all the details for this major update.
Tides of Terraria release day
The Palworld Tides of Terraria update was released on June 25, 2025.
As announced, this collab changed how the game is played, as it added more Pals, three whole islands, new mechanics, and so much more content.
New Pals & monsters
A bunch of new Pals can be found in the game thanks to the new content:

Additionally, three skins have made it into the game as a result of the 1st year anniversary popularity poll:

On the other hand, the terrifying Moon Lord from the Terraria universe has invaded Palworld and is the new Raid boss.
While no other details have been shared about the update, the Eye of Cthulhu appeared on the trailer along with other Terraria creatures.
Map expansion
The Tides of Terraria includes three new islands:
- Tropical Island
- Iceberg Island
- Shipwreck Island
Players who venture to explore the new areas will be able to find new pals according to each biome.
Additionally, a unique dungeon featuring enemies from Terraria has been added. There, players can gather materials to create equipment from the Terraria universe, such as the glowing sword from the trailer.
Mechanics
Several new mechanics have been introduced with the Tides of Terraria update.

- Fishing: Craft a fishing rod to catch new Pals by following their shadows underwater.
- Salvage system: Ride on water Pals and use your rod to salvage supplies from the ocean floor.
- Pal trusted: Spend time with your Pals to earn their trust and raise their stats.
- Turbulence: Use unusual air turbulence around Palpagos Island and use it to jump high into the sky.
- Sleep: After a day of farming and battling, players can take a rest with their Pals.
Equipment & buildings
Six new weapons and 7 new armour pieces from the Terraria universe have been added to Palworld. Moreover, a standard Charge Rifle, Energy Shotgun, Overheat Rifle, Boost Gun, and Pal Recover Grenade can be crafted.
Useful buildings are now available, including:
- Pal Surgery Table: Overwrite your Pal’s passive skills and change their gender.
- Fishing Pond: Relax and catch fish in the comfort of your base.
- Hexolite Quartz Mine: Get more of this gemstone in one place.
- Larger Incubator: Hatch multiple eggs at the same time.
- Palbox Control Device: A terminal that allows you access to your Pal Box from anywhere inside the base.
The bravest adventurers can also go in search of enemy bases to raid. If they succeed, they’ll obtain new blueprints for buildings related to each faction.
Skills
New skills for some types have been added, as well as unique ones:

Missions
The update includes a new missions system that allows players to find and accept missions from islanders around Palpagos Island. Each time a mission is complete, they’ll receive a reward.
Additionally, Zoe will have unique missions, and by completing them, players can earn her trust and recruit her as an ally.
Arena
A single-player challenge mode allows trainers to raise their ranks by facing off against the fierce warriors of Palpagos Island. They can set the rules for the arena, including banning Pals, and the multiplayer mode even has an arena spectator mode.
After each win, they’ll receive battle tickets that can be exchanged for awesome rewards.
Others
More key features and changes have been included in the Tides of Terraria update, such as:
- The player level cap has been raised from 60 to 65.
- Settlements were overhauled, making them larger, with many new NPC missions.
- New food recipes.
- Use treasure maps to find the location of hidden treasures and valuable items.
- Whistles and Growth Acceleration Bell items can now be used.
Trailers
In December 2024, a teaser was posted by Pocketpair announcing that the Palworld x Terraria collab will feature a Meowmere sword.
On June 19, 2025, the first look at the Palworld x Terraria collab was shown with a Tides of Terraria animated trailer.
The day the update launched – June 25, 2025 – a minute and a half clip was shared where some of the new features were shown.
