Wondering how to change the language in Palworld? Here’s how to change language in Palworld for Steam and Xbox Game Pass users.
Palworld quickly rose to the top of Steam charts in terms of concurrent players just hours after its launch, essentially breaking records despite being released in early access.
The game offers so much more than just “Pokemon with guns,” as players can dive deep into building their perfect base, exploring dangerous dungeons, crafting items, and so much more.
The good news is, in terms of accessibility, Palworld also offers support for multiple languages. So, if you’re keen on playing the game in your preferred language aside from the default English language, it’s possible to do just that. Here’s how to change language in Palworld.

At the time of writing, it’s not possible to change the language directly in the game. Instead, if you’re playing the game from Steam, you’ll need to do it via the game’s Steam settings. To do that, follow the steps below:

How to change language in Palworld for Xbox Game Pass
For Xbox Game Pass users playing on PC, the method to change language in Palworld is slightly different. You still need to change the language outside of the game, but it does require you to tweak one of the game’s files. Here’s how to do it:
- In your search bar, type Run and click on it.
- Next, type %localappdata% in the Run window and press OK.
- Locate the Pal folder in the list of folders.
- Once you’ve opened the Pal folder, navigate to Saved > Config > WinGDK.
- Right-click the Engine.ini file and select Open with Notepad.
- Scroll to the bottom and type [Internationalization] Culture=en
- Save and close the file.
Now, keep in mind that “en” in the code refers to the English language. So, if you’d like to change it, you’ll need to replace it with the correct code according to the language you want. Below is a list of all supported languages in Palworld, each with its respective code.
- English: en
- Spanish: es
- German: de
- French: fr
- Italian: it
- Korean: ko
- Russian: ru
- Japanese: ja
- Portuguese: pt-BR
- Traditional Chinese: zh-Hant
