Palworld players are fed up with chasing and picking up their Pals if they want to assign them to a specific task.
It doesn’t take long for Palworld players to start catching some handy Pals and building enormous bases. In order to get all the materials for these bases, many players opt to automate the process, utilizing the stats of their best Pals to farm and make things for them.
However, some traits that Pals possess, like watering, are needed for many tasks, and Pals sometimes have a mind of their own on which task they want to complete.
Pocketpair developed a mechanic to get around this, which allows you to pick Pals up (and then drop them) at the desired task.
And picking them up seems easy, right?
Palworld fans hate “pick up” Pal mechanic
One player complained on social media after giving up on spending an age chasing around their Anubis to pick it up and assign it to a task.
“Some pain in the ass you lot are,” they described their Pals when having to chase them.

They weren’t the only player to feel this way, as many others had suffered from the same frustrating experience.
“Yep, that’s why we need the ability to assign pals. This ‘chase them around to pick them up’ is bullsh*t,” said one player.
Players struggled with getting close enough to pick their Pals and found that once they were in range, the game wouldn’t highlight the “pick-up” mechanic as an option.
“Even worse, when you are trying to pick them up, but the game highlights every other option but lift,” one person complained.
So, the Palworld community brainstormed a fix for the issue, like keeping a Pal in your party and just “throw the palball at the job.” Only time will tell if Pocketpair will actually implement an official change to improve the “pick up” mechanic.
