Palworld players are upset after noticing one certain change that was not included in the latest patch notes.
Palworld‘s launch was quite a success, with the game amassing over 500k concurrent players and surpassing some of Steam’s most popular titles just within hours of its release.
Given the game is still in early access, it’s not surprising for players to come across some hiccups from time to time. Thankfully, devs are aware as they regularly roll out patch notes to smooth out the experience.
However, with the most recent patch notes, players have spotted one undocumented detail that has left them upset. That detail is none other than the censorship change, which was not listed in the latest patch notes.
Due to this being added to the game, players could no longer use certain words to name all sorts of things in the game, from their world, Pals, and even the signboard. This discovery was shared by a user in a Reddit thread, in which they admitted that they can no longer call their world “P****” or name their Cattiva “Sassy B****.”
They pointed out that they’re not against the decision, just that it was simply “not documented” by the devs, hence sharing it with others. Others in the comments weren’t happy, slamming the decision as “annoying” and saying it doesn’t make sense given some of the explicit things the game has.

One player suggested that this feature should be configurable for both single-player and private servers, to which another user jokingly replied, “My Lovander called McB****t*** agrees.”
Another mentioned that while they understand the devs’ decision, this shouldn’t be “forced” on single-player or private servers. “A toggle like everything else would work great,” they said.
“I would prefer a blurry name client side if they want to censor,” suggested another.
Meanwhile, some players admitted they will miss calling their base and Pals with their original names. It’s unknown whether or not this feature will be tweaked, so for now, it seems players will have no choice but change their Pal’s name if they’d like to avoid censorship.
