A Palworld player has now created the perfect Pokemon mod full of iconic characters like Ash, Pikachu, and many more. Here’s how it looks.
The survival game Palworld has sparked a flurry of interest among gamers in the time since its debut, which was less than seven days ago. In terms of Steam’s concurrent player peak count, the game exceeded Elden Ring over the weekend, shattering all records in the process.
Pocket Pair created this survival RPG with an open world and creatures called “Pals” that resemble animals. To construct bases, navigate, and fight, players can engage in battles and capture Pals.
Some players have compared the new game to a “Pokemon rip-off with guns” due to the similarities between the two franchises and the fact that it won’t be available on Nintendo consoles.
Even though tensions between Pokemon and Palworld fans are high, one player has made a mod that places Ash, Pikachu, and dozens of other beloved Pokemon characters in Palworld. Here’s more info about its availability and what it looks like.
Palworld’s “epic” Pokemon mod brings iconic characters to the game
Even though Palworld was supposed to not have mod support upon release, Australian YouTuber Toasted Shoes managed to get footage of a functioning Pokemon mod in the game. The game has been in Early Access on Steam and Xbox since release, modders have been at work and uploaded a Pokemon mod pack online.

The video has Toasted demonstrating how the mod allows players to assume the role of Ash Ketchum from the Pokemon series and engage in battles against various characters, including Venusaur and Team Rocket. Pikachu, Oddish, Ash’s pals Misty and Brock, and a plethora of other beloved franchise characters are all part of the mod.
This mod appears to have been inserted into the game through a backdoor in the code, even though Pocket Pair has not yet released official mod support and the mod is unapproved.
On the other hand, Toasted has also announced a full video on January 23, 2024, which will be released on their YouTube channel to demonstrate the mod in all its glory. Some viewers are crossing their fingers that the video will also include a link to the mods that are installed.
