Mega Evolutions are one of the most potent battle mechanics in the Pokemon series, yet only a handful of ‘mons were ever given this powerful extra form.
Mega Evolutions were introduced in Pokemon X & Y, marking the biggest new combat feature since Double Battles. If you had the correct item, one Pokemon on the team could transform into their Mega form, boosting their stats and usually giving them a new Ability or type.
While Mega Evolutions left the mainline games after Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, they’ve remained a fixture in Pokemon Go and are set to return in Pokemon Legends Z-A. Here’s a list of all Mega Evolutions introduced in the mainline games so far.
Mega Abomasnow
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Grass/Ice
- Weaknesses: Fire, Fighting, Flying, Poison, Rock, Bug, Steel
HP | 90 |
ATK | 132 |
DEF | 105 |
SP. ATK | 132 |
SP. DEF | 105 |
SPD | 30 |
Mega Abomasnow gets a major boost in offensive power when it Mega Evolves. Unfortunately, poor Speed and terrible defensive typing can’t save this ‘Mon from being steamrolled in competitive formats.
If you can get a Trick Room up, that changes things as Mega Abomasnow packs a punch, but that tactic only works with specific setups.
Mega Absol
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Dark
- Weaknesses: Fighting, Bug, Fairy
HP | 65 |
ATK | 150 |
DEF | 60 |
SP. ATK | 115 |
SP. DEF | 60 |
SPD | 115 |
Not only does Mega Absol get a major Speed and offensive stat boost from its Mega Evolution, but it also gets Magic Bounce, which can reflect status moves back at the enemy.
It’s just a shame that the base version of Absol isn’t that great, as its Mega can only do so much. In this case, it’s better at making it look cool than it is at making it a threat on the battlefield.
Mega Aerodactyl
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Rock/Flying
- Weaknesses: Rock, Steel, Water, Electric, Ice
HP | 80 |
ATK | 135 |
DEF | 85 |
SP. ATK | 70 |
SP. DEF | 95 |
SPD | 150 |
Mega Aerodactyl is the perfect example of a Mega Evolution improving what the base form does. When Aerodactly Mega Evolves, it gets a big boost to Attack and Speed, along with the Tough Claws Ability, boosting its contact move damage.
This means it can eviscerate enemies with Wing Attack, as well as Stone Edge for the big STAB bonus.
Mega Aggron
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Steel
- Weaknesses: Fighting, Ground, Fire
HP | 70 |
ATK | 140 |
DEF | 230 |
SP. ATK | 60 |
SP. DEF | 80 |
SPD | 50 |
Mega Aggron gains a ridiculous boost to its Defense stat and the Filter Ability, which reduces damage from Super Effective hits.
This turns this Pokemon into a tank nightmare, giving it survivability against lots of opponent types, and letting you use all kinds of support and offense options, as it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
Mega Alakazam
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Psychic
- Weaknesses: Bug, Ghost, Dark
HP | 55 |
ATK | 50 |
DEF | 65 |
SP. ATK | 175 |
SP. DEF | 105 |
SPD | 150 |
Alakazam has been a terror in the competitive scene for a long time, and its Mega Evolution made it even scarier, with a huge boost to its Special Attack stat.
Not only that, but Mega Alakazam gets the Trace Ability, allowing it to copy an opponent’s Ability, giving it access to a wide range of useful options that your enemy is providing.
Mega Altaria
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Dragon/Fairy
- Weaknesses: Poison, Steel, Ice, Fairy
HP | 75 |
ATK | 110 |
DEF | 110 |
SP. ATK | 110 |
SP. DEF | 105 |
SPD | 80 |
This dreaded Dragon/Fairy gains a boost to all of its offensive/defensive stats, along with the Pixilate ability, transforming its Normal-type moves into Fairy-type and increasing their damage.
It’s a shame that Mega Altaria‘s Speed didn’t get a bump, as many potent threats can outpace this fluffy bird.
Mega Ampharos
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Electric/Dragon
- Weaknesses: Ground, Ice, Dragon, Fairy
HP | 90 |
ATK | 95 |
DEF | 105 |
SP. ATK | 165 |
SP. DEF | 110 |
SPD | 45 |
Not only did this Mega Evolution give Ampharos a fancy new do, but it also sent its Special Attack through the roof.
Mega Ampharos also gained the Dragon-type (thanks to a Japanese naming pun that doesn’t translate well) and the Mold Breaker Ability, giving it more offensive options in combat, especially the juicy new Dragon moves.
Mega Audino
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Normal/Fairy
- Weaknesses: Poison, Steel
HP | 103 |
ATK | 60 |
DEF | 126 |
SP. ATK | 80 |
SP. DEF | 126 |
SPD | 50 |
Mega Audino turns a regular Pokemon into a bonafide RPG healer character in Double Battles. This is due to the Healer Ability, which has a 30% chance of healing an adjacent ‘mon of status effects for free.
Mega Audino also gets a significant boost to its defensive stats, allowing it to survive long enough to throw out restorative moves.
Mega Banette
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Ghost
- Weaknesses: Ghost, Dark
HP | 64 |
ATK | 165 |
DEF | 75 |
SP. ATK | 93 |
SP. DEF | 83 |
SPD | 75 |
Mega Banette gains a weird combination of bonuses. When it Mega Evolves, its Attack stat goes through the roof, letting it punch holes through the enemy.
However, it also gains Prankster, increasing the priority of non-damaging moves, such as status effect attacks. This gives it a couple of really good options on the battlefield.
Mega Beedrill
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Bug/Poison
- Weaknesses: Flying, Rock, Fire, Psychic
HP | 65 |
ATK | 150 |
DEF | 40 |
SP. ATK | 15 |
SP. DEF | 80 |
SPD | 145 |
Those drills aren’t for show, as Mega Beedrill gets a major boost to its Attack and Speed stats. Also, it gains the Adaptability Ability, increasing its STAB bonus for Bug and Poison moves.
This makes it an incredible U-Turn user as the move hits like a truck, then allows Mega Beedrill to flee to safety.
Mega Blastoise
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Water
- Weaknesses: Grass, Electric
HP | 79 |
ATK | 103 |
DEF | 120 |
SP. ATK | 135 |
SP. DEF | 115 |
SPD | 78 |
Mega Blastoise improves upon the original in every sense, boosting its offensive and defensive stats, as well as giving it Mega Launcher, increasing the power of Pulse moves like Water Pulse and Heal Pulse. It also gains a fancy new cannon on its back.
Mega Blaziken
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Fire/Fighting
- Weaknesses: Flying, Ground, Water, Psychic
HP | 80 |
ATK | 160 |
DEF | 80 |
SP. ATK | 130 |
SP. DEF | 80 |
SPD | 100 |
Mega Blaziken didn’t need to do much to improve its already overpowered base form. It just gained a huge bonus to its offensive stats and Speed, allowing it to outpace and brutally put down the opposition. It didn’t even get a new Ability, as it wasn’t needed!
Mega Camerupt
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Fire/Ground
- Weaknesses: Water, Ground
HP | 70 |
ATK | 120 |
DEF | 100 |
SP. ATK | 145 |
SP. DEF | 105 |
SPD | 20 |
Mega Camerupt gains a great offensive and defensive stat boost, as well as the Sheer Force Ability, which removes secondary effects of moves to boost their strength. Unfortunately, its extremely poor Speed and awful defensive typing prevent it from being much use in competition.
Mega Charizard X
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Fire/Dragon
- Weaknesses: Ground, Rock, Dragon
HP | 78 |
ATK | 130 |
DEF | 111 |
SP. ATK | 130 |
SP. DEF | 85 |
SPD | 100 |
Charizard received two Mega Evolutions with very different effects. Mega Charizard X replaces Flying with Dragon-type, greatly reducing its weakness to Stealth Rock, boosting its offensive stats, and giving it a STAB bonus with lots of new moves.
Mega Charizard Y
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Fire/Flying
- Weaknesses: Rock, Water, Electric
HP | 78 |
ATK | 104 |
DEF | 78 |
SP. ATK | 159 |
SP. DEF | 115 |
SPD | 100 |
Mega Charizard Y gains a huge boost to its special stats and the Drought Ability, which causes Sunny Day weather when it enters, further increasing the power of Fire-type moves. Not only is this great for dispelling weather effects used by enemies, but it also makes Charizard Y even stronger.
Mega Diancie
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Rock/Fairy
- Weaknesses: Steel, Ground, Water, Grass
HP | 50 |
ATK | 160 |
DEF | 110 |
SP. ATK | 160 |
SP. DEF | 110 |
SPD | 110 |
Mega Diancie fixes its base form’s biggest issue, by giving it a major Attack and Speed boost. The addition of Magic Bounce also considerably boosted its combat potential, making it less susceptible to stat weakeners. The addition of Stealth Rock and STAB-boosted Moonblast is just the icing on the cake.
Mega Gallade
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Psychic/Fighting
- Weaknesses: Flying, Ghost, Fairy
HP | 68 |
ATK | 165 |
DEF | 95 |
SP. ATK | 65 |
SP. DEF | 115 |
SPD | 110 |
Mega Gallade not only received a big boost to Attack, Defense, and Speed but also gained Inner Focus, making it immune to flinching attacks. This means it’s dependable offensive Pokemon, as it can’t be interrupted by the likes of Fake Out.
Mega Garchomp
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Dragon/Ground
- Weaknesses: Ice, Dragon, Fairy
HP | 108 |
ATK | 170 |
DEF | 115 |
SP. ATK | 120 |
SP. DEF | 95 |
SPD | 92 |
This Pokemon was already a major threat on the competitive scene for years before Mega Evolution came along and made it better. Mega Garchomp received stat boosts across the board and gained Sand Force, improving its best moves when a sandstorm is raging.
Mega Gardevoir
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Psychic/Fairy
- Weaknesses: Poison, Ghost, Steel
HP | 68 |
ATK | 85 |
DEF | 65 |
SP. ATK | 165 |
SP. DEF | 135 |
SPD | 100 |
There’s a reason this Pokemon was used by a Champion during a climactic battle. Mega Gardevoir gets a huge special boost, as well as Pixelate, giving it a strong range of Normal-type moves to use in its arsenal. It also gets a Speed boost, making it even greater at taking down enemies.
Mega Gengar
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Ghost/Poison
- Weaknesses: Ground, Ghost, Psychic, Dark
HP | 60 |
ATK | 65 |
DEF | 80 |
SP. ATK | 170 |
SP. DEF | 95 |
SPD | 130 |
Mega Gengar is a ridiculous Pokemon, and we’re not just talking about its appearance. Not only does it get a Special Attack boost, but it gains Shadow Tag, preventing an opponent from switching out, potentially locking them into a lose-lose situation that you can take advantage of.
Mega Glalie
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Ice
- Weaknesses: Fighting, Rock, Steel, Fire
HP | 80 |
ATK | 120 |
DEF | 80 |
SP. ATK | 120 |
SP. DEF | 80 |
SPD | 100 |
Mega Glalie got a really good boost to its stats and the awesome Refrigerate Ability, turning Normal-type moves into Ice-type moves and boosting them in the process. Unfortunately, that solo Ice-type is death, thanks to so many of its weaknesses being major threats in competitive battles.
Mega Gyarados
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Water/Dark
- Weaknesses: Fighting, Bug, Grass, Electric, Fairy
HP | 95 |
ATK | 155 |
DEF | 109 |
SP. ATK | 70 |
SP. DEF | 130 |
SPD | 81 |
Mega Gyarados fixed a huge problem with its base form, reducing its weakness to Electric-type moves. Its monstrous Attack was also improved, along with defensive stats, giving it even more survivability. The Dark-type STAB boost and the Mold Breaker Ability are just cherries on the horrible sea serpent cake.
Mega Heracross
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Bug/Fighting
- Weaknesses: Flying, Fire, Psychic, Fairy
HP | 80 |
ATK | 185 |
DEF | 115 |
SP. ATK | 40 |
SP. DEF | 105 |
SPD | 75 |
Mega Heracross is an incredibly dependable warrior. This is due to a huge Attack boost combined with the Skill Link Ability, which causes multi-hit moves to always use their maximum output.
Mega Heracross is a phenomenal Pin Missle user, dealing a ton of damage through a barrage of Bug ballistic missile punches.

Mega Houndoom
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Dark/Fire
- Weaknesses: Fighting, Ground, Rock, Water
HP | 75 |
ATK | 90 |
DEF | 90 |
SP. ATK | 140 |
SP. DEF | 90 |
SPD | 115 |
Mega Houndoom requires a specific setup to be effective, as it gains the Solar Power Ability, increasing the beneficial effects of Sunny Day, at the cost of health.
If you pull it off, Mega Houndoom will be dealing incredible damage with its Fire-type attacks, especially as it also received a big Special Attack boost.
Mega Kangaskhan
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Normal
- Weaknesses: Fighting
HP | 105 |
ATK | 125 |
DEF | 100 |
SP. ATK | 60 |
SP. DEF | 100 |
SPD | 100 |
No one cared about Kangaskhan until it received a Mega Evolution when it suddenly became one of the best Pokemon in the game. This is due to Mega Kangaskhan’s Parental Bond Ability, giving it a second attack with its damage moves, and reducing the effectiveness of the last hit.
Parental Bond is so unbelievably useful, especially with status moves, that it propelled a forgotten Gen 1 Pokemon to the top of the competitive scene.
Mega Latias
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Dragon/Psychic
- Weaknesses: Bug, Ghost, Ice, Dragon, Dark, Fairy
HP | 80 |
ATK | 100 |
DEF | 120 |
SP. ATK | 140 |
SP. DEF | 150 |
SPD | 110 |
Mega Latias is about as basic as a Mega Evolution gets, as it just improved stats across the board. This made an already fantastic Legendary Pokemon even better, as it made it better at doing everything it was good at.
Mega Latios
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Dragon/Psychic
- Weaknesses: Bug, Ghost, Ice, Dragon, Dark, Fairy
HP | 80 |
ATK | 130 |
DEF | 100 |
SP. ATK | 160 |
SP. DEF | 120 |
SPD | 110 |
Much like Mega Latias, Mega Latios improves an already powerful Pokemon, giving this speed demon a huge boost to its offensive capabilities. As Psychic and Dragon have lots of amazing moves associated with their typing, this gives the Mega Lati twins a ton of options in combat.
Mega Lopunny
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Normal/Fighting
- Weaknesses: Fighting, Flying, Psychic, Fairy
HP | 65 |
ATK | 136 |
DEF | 94 |
SP. ATK | 54 |
SP. DEF | 96 |
SPD | 135 |
Mega Lopunny isn’t afraid of Ghosts, as it gains the Scrappy Ability, allowing it to punch Gengar and its ilk in the face. That’s not the most impressive aspect of this ‘mon, however, as it gains major Attack and Speed boosts, as well as the Fighting-type, drastically improving its capabilities as a frontline fighter.
Mega Lucario
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Fighting/Steel
- Weaknesses: Fighting, Ground, Fire
HP | 70 |
ATK | 145 |
DEF | 88 |
SP. ATK | 140 |
SP. DEF | 70 |
SPD | 112 |
Lucario is one of the most popular Pokemon in the game, so it stands to reason that it would gain an amazing Mega Evolution. In this case, it involves offensive and Speed attack improvements, as well as Adaptability to boost its STAB, making it hit harder than it already was.
Mega Manectric
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Electric
- Weaknesses: Ground
HP | 70 |
ATK | 75 |
DEF | 80 |
SP. ATK | 135 |
SP. DEF | 80 |
SPD | 135 |
Mega Manectric has one of the sillier Mega Evolution designs, but that doesn’t mean anything on the battlefield. This Super Saiyan knock-off Pokemon received major boosts to its Special Attack and Speed, which are amazing benefits for an Electric-type hitter.
It also got Intimidate, allowing it to weaken its opponents with its almighty anime hair.
Mega Mawile
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Steel/Fairy
- Weaknesses: Ground, Fire
HP | 50 |
ATK | 105 |
DEF | 125 |
SP. ATK | 55 |
SP. DEF | 95 |
SPD | 50 |
Mega Mawile received a giant extra mouth on the back of its head, which might explain its Huge Power Ability, doubling its Attack stat, which already gets a boost from the Mega Evolution process. There are few Pokemon that can stand up to a chewing from this monstrous Mega.
Mega Medicham
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Fighting/Psychic
- Weaknesses: Flying, Ghost, Fairy
HP | 60 |
ATK | 100 |
DEF | 85 |
SP. ATK | 80 |
SP. DEF | 85 |
SPD | 100 |
One of the more boring Mega Evolutions in the game, as it gives regular Medicham a few boosts across the board, but nothing to help set it apart from its base form, or allow it to keep up with the other Megas rampaging across competitive battles.
Mega Metagross
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Steel/Psychic
- Weaknesses: Ground, Ghost, Fire, Dark
HP | 80 |
ATK | 145 |
DEF | 150 |
SP. ATK | 105 |
SP. DEF | 110 |
SPD | 110 |
Mega Evolution fixed regular Metagross’ biggest issue by giving it a big Speed bump. It also gained Touch Claws, drastically increasing the power of Meteor Mash, offering Mega Metagross a powerful signature move to call on in battle, while retaining the bulky defense of its base form.
Mega Mewtwo X
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Psychic/Fighting
- Weaknesses: Flying, Ghost, Fairy
HP | 106 |
ATK | 190 |
DEF | 100 |
SP. ATK | 154 |
SP. DEF | 100 |
SPD | 134 |
Like Charizard, Mewtwo received two Mega Evolutions. Mega Mewtwo X gained the Fighting-type, a bunch of stat boosts, and the Steadfast Ability, which boosts its Speed when it flinches. While not quite as feared as Mewtwo Y, this Legendary monster is still a force to be reckoned with.
Mega Mewtwo Y
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Psychic
- Weaknesses: Bug, Ghost, Dark
HP | 106 |
ATK | 150 |
DEF | 70 |
SP. ATK | 194 |
SP. DEF | 120 |
SPD | 140 |
Mega Mewtwo Y gained a ridiculous Special Attack boost and the Insomnia Ability, making it immune to the sleep status effect. This solo Psychic-type beast will annihilate anything that isn’t Dark-type with its powerful attacks, especially if it has had time to throw up some Calm Minds first.
Mega Pidgeot
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Normal/Flying
- Weaknesses: Rock, Electric, Ice
HP | 83 |
ATK | 80 |
DEF | 80 |
SP. ATK | 135 |
SP. DEF | 80 |
SPD | 121 |
Mega Pidgeot has a strange Ability, as No Guard gives it and its opponent a 100% hit chance. It’s just a shame that Mega Pidgeot doesn’t have the stats, typing, or move pool to make the most of No Guard, as the best it can offer is a reliable Hurricane attack.
Mega Pinsir
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Bug/Flying
- Weaknesses: Rock, Flying, Fire, Electric, Ice
HP | 65 |
ATK | 155 |
DEF | 120 |
SP. ATK | 65 |
SP. DEF | 90 |
SPD | 105 |
Mega Pinsir completely switches what the base form is good at, thanks to its new Flying-type and the Aerilate Ability, which turns Normal moves into Flying ones, boosting them in the process.
Coupled with big Defense, Attack, and Speed boosts, Mega Pinsir can deal a ton of damage with a Normal-type arsenal of moves.
Mega Rayquaza
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Dragon/Flying
- Weaknesses: Ice, Rock, Dragon, Fairy
HP | 105 |
ATK | 180 |
DEF | 100 |
SP. ATK | 180 |
SP. DEF | 100 |
SPD | 115 |
Often considered the best Mega Evolution in the game, thanks to its ability to evolve through a move rather than an item, Mega Rayquaza has the stats, moves, and item-using capability to make it the ruler of competitive battles in the generations where it appeared.
Mega Sableye
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Dark/Ghost
- Weaknesses: Fairy
HP | 50 |
ATK | 85 |
DEF | 125 |
SP. ATK | 85 |
SP. DEF | 115 |
SPD | 20 |
Sableye may have lost its lack of weaknesses in Gen 6 when Fairy-type was introduced, but it gained a monstrous Mega form.
Mega Sableye loses its Speed, but gains powerful defensive stats and the Magic Bounce Ability, making it a frustrating wall for the other player to overcome, especially when you’re whacking them with status effects.
Mega Salamence
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Dragon/Flying
- Weaknesses: Ice, Rock, Dragon, Fairy
HP | 95 |
ATK | 145 |
DEF | 130 |
SP. ATK | 120 |
SP. DEF | 90 |
SPD | 120 |
Mega Evolution not only makes Mega Salamence look like the Rebel Alliance symbol from Star Wars, but it also gives it major stat boosts across the board.
Additionally, it gained Aeriliate, allowing it to add Normal-type moves to its arsenal and turn them into boosted Flying-type moves. It didn’t take much to turn this already amazing dragon into one of the best ‘mons in the game.
Mega Sceptile
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Grass/Dragon
- Weaknesses: Ice, Flying, Poison, Bug, Dragon, Fairy
HP | 70 |
ATK | 110 |
DEF | 75 |
SP. ATK | 145 |
SP. DEF | 85 |
SPD | 145 |
Complete immunity to Electric-type moves shouldn’t be sniffed at, which is what Mega Sceptile’s Lightning Rod Ability does. It also gained big offensive boosts and the Dragon-type. It’s just a shame its hit point pool is so low, as it means this draconic plant monster can’t keep up on the battlefield.
Mega Scizor
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Bug/Steel
- Weaknesses: Fire
HP | 70 |
ATK | 150 |
DEF | 140 |
SP. ATK | 65 |
SP. DEF | 100 |
SPD | 75 |
Mega Scizor gains an unusual Ability, as Technician improves the strength of weak attacks. This makes it an amazing Bullet Punch user, allowing it a brutal first blow in combat. The additional stat boosts brought on by Mega Evolution also help elevate this already amazing ‘mon.
Mega Sharpedo
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Water/Dark
- Weaknesses: Fighting, Bug, Grass, Electric, Fairy
HP | 70 |
ATK | 140 |
DEF | 70 |
SP. ATK | 110 |
SP. DEF | 65 |
SPD | 105 |
As befits its inspiration, Mega Sharpedo gets the Strong Jaw power, increasing its bite attacks. When coupled with a massive Attack boost, it becomes an amazing Crunch user, not only dealing a ton of damage but also potentially lowering the enemy’s Defense stat in the process.
Mega Slowbro
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Water/Psychic
- Weaknesses: Bug, Ghost, Grass, Electric, Dark
HP | 95 |
ATK | 75 |
DEF | 180 |
SP. ATK | 130 |
SP. DEF | 80 |
SPD | 30 |
Mega Slowbro suddenly turns the spaced-out Pokemon into a protective wall, thanks to a major boost to Defense and the Shell Armor Ability, making it immune to critical hits.
This makes it incredibly hard to take down Mega Slowbro, especially while it pelts your party with powerful moves of its own, thanks to its now-improved Special Attack stat.
Mega Steelix
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Steel/Ground
- Weaknesses: Fighting, Ground, Fire, Water
HP | 75 |
ATK | 125 |
DEF | 230 |
SP. ATK | 55 |
SP. DEF | 95 |
SPD | 30 |
Mega Steelix makes this metal titan even better at absorbing hits, thanks to a Defense and Special Defense boost. The addition of the Sand Force ability also makes it amazing in a sandstorm.
It’s just a shame its Speed or offensive capabilities weren’t boosted by its Mega Evolution, as that would have made it a true threat on the battlefield.
Mega Swampert
- Debut: Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
- Type: Water/Ground
- Weaknesses: Grass
HP | 100 |
ATK | 150 |
DEF | 110 |
SP. ATK | 95 |
SP. DEF | 110 |
SPD | 70 |
Mega Swampert needs a specific team to get going, but it does amazingly well in the correct environment. This is thanks to its Swift Swim Ability, which doubles its Speed in the rain. This helps this slow ‘mon get off the starting line and start dishing out the hurt with its boosted Attack stat.
Mega Tyranitar
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Rock/Dark
- Weaknesses: Fighting, Ground, Bug, Steel, Water, Grass, Fairy
HP | 100 |
ATK | 164 |
DEF | 160 |
SP. ATK | 95 |
SP. DEF | 120 |
SPD | 71 |
Mega Tyranitar is another beneficiary of the “Mega Evolution that makes it better at what it already does” program. In this case, it’s boosting nearly all of its stats, making it hit harder and tank better than it did before. It also gained an awesome Godzilla-style makeover, which is always appreciated.
Mega Venusaur
- Debut: Pokemon X & Y
- Type: Grass/Poison
- Weaknesses: Flying, Fire, Psychic, Ice
HP | 80 |
ATK | 100 |
DEF | 123 |
SP. ATK | 122 |
SP. DEF | 120 |
SPD | 80 |
Mega Venusaur gains a tremendous Ability in Thick Fat, which reduces the damage of Fire and Ice-type moves. This makes Mega Venusaur an offensive beast, especially with Fire and Ice having so many powerful offensive attacks.
On top of Thick Fat, Mega Venusaur also gains boosted defensive and Special Attack stats. These, coupled with its amazing status effect inflicting move pool, make it one of the best Mega Evolutions in the game.
