Galvantula has been part of Pokemon Go for a while now, but bug-loving trainers who are looking to add this arachnid to their teams will want to know its best moveset, and whether it’s any good in battles. Here’s all you need to know about the EleSpider Pokemon.
Galvantula is Joltik’s evolution, first introduced in Gen 5. It is part of the small spider-like family in the franchise, alongside the likes of Araquanid, Ariados, and Spidops.
It first appeared in Pokemon Go back in 2020 alongside the release of Trade Evolutions. However, its Shiny form wasn’t released until August 2023, during Pokemon Go Fest 2023: Global.
The Bug/Electric-type Pokemon has a stat spread of 201 Attack, 128 Defense, and 172 Stamina. It can reach a max CP value of 2206 and is only vulnerable to Fire and Rock-type moves thanks to its strong defensive typing.

Pokemon Go Galvantula best PvP moveset
The best moveset players can select for Galvantula in PvP is Fury Cutter as a Fast Move and Bug Buzz and Discharge as Charged Moves.
Fury Cutter is Galvantula’s strongest Fast Move with it receiving a damage boost courtesy of STAB. The Bug-type attack also generates charge quickly letting it use more Charged Moves and deal more damage overall.

Speaking of Charged Moves, Bug Buzz is Galvantula’s strongest Charged Move and it works better offensively when paired up with Discharge. Much like Fury Cutter, these are also STAB attacks that deal the most damage possible and give Galvantula coverage against five different types: Dark, Grass, Flying, Psychic, and Water.
While Galvantula is utterly useless in Master League, the Electric/Bug Pokemon is strong in both Great League and Ultra League. Its rare typing, impressive coverage, and hard-hitting attacks make it a great option, especially as it counters so many of the meta Pokemon in these tiers.
Pokemon Go Galvantula best Raid moveset
Against Raid bosses, you’ll want Galvantula to have a moveset consisting of Volt Switch as its Fast Attack and Discharge as its Charged Attack.
This moveset makes Galvantula an Electric-type Attacker, and a reasonably strong one at that. It may not be Zekrom or Shadow Raikou, but Galvantula is a decent option for trainers looking to bridge the gap on the way to the real PvE powerhouses.
