The Legendary Giratina is back with its Origin Forme for a limited time in Pokemon Go Raid battles. So, if you want to add this offensive beast to your main team and exploit its abilities, here are its best movesets.

Giratina is one of the toughest Legendaries in the franchise mostly due to its Ghost/Dragon-type combo, good offensive stat, and powerful move pool.

Those looking for one of the best competitive Pokemon in Niantic’s game should challenge Origin Forme Giratina during its time as a 5-Star Raid boss from October 14, 2024, until October 28, 2024, where it will also be featured in two Raid Hours (October 16 and October 23).

If you manage to snatch one, here are the best movesets you should teach Origin Forme Giratina to dominate both PvP and Raid battles in Pokemon Go.

Best moveset for PvP

Origin Forme Giratina’s best moveset for PvP consists of Shadow Claw as a Fast Move and Shadow Ball as a Charged Move.

Even though Shadow Claw deals less damage out of both Fast Moves, it gains energy way faster than Dragon Tail, which is better to access the Charged Move sooner and bait the enemy’s shields. Plus, Dragon-type moves are more likely to be resisted due to the many Dragon Pokemon used in competitive play.

As mentioned above, going for a Dragon move like Dragon Pulse can be counterproductive. Plus, it is the slowest Charged Move in Origin Forme Giratina’s attack pool. Shadow Force is a powerful Ghost nuke, but players can inflict almost the same amount of damage for half the energy using Shadow Ball.

Despite Ominous Wind getting nerfed, it can still work nicely as a secondary Charged Move, so if you can afford it, use it.

Best moveset for Raids

The best moveset players can use for Origin Forme Giratina in Raids is Shadow Claw as a Fast Move and Shadow Force as a Charged Move, with 21.77 damage per second and an outstanding 912.3 total damage output before it faints.

This creature is one of the best Ghost-type Pokemon in the game, so the smart move is to rely on its Ghost abilities.

As the only Ghost-type Fast Move, Shadow Claw is the way to go. And unlike in PvP, Shadow Force is actually better than Shadow Ball in Raid battles due to its higher damage. Keep in mind that to get the best moveset, you’ll need an Elite Charge TM to access Shadow Force.

Dragon Tail and Dragon Pulse can be used for a full Dragon-type approach. However, this moveset is outclassed and not worth it.
