Pokemon Go players have a chance to get Steelix through the Ultra Unlock event in July 2024. Which, if upgraded to a Mega, can become an even more powerful beast. This dual Steel/Ground-type Pokemon has an attack-based stat spread of 212 (ATK), 327 (DEF), and 181 (STAT), and can reach a max CP value of 3670 in Pokemon Go.

Unless for a special event, Mega Steelix won’t be eligible for PvP play in Pokemon Go. This is because Mega Pokemon aren’t eligible for Great, Ultra, and Master League formats.
But in special cases where Mega Steelix can be used, use Iron Tail as a Fast Move, coupled with Heavy Slam and Psychic Fangs as Charged Move options.

The best moveset players can use for Mega Steelix in Pokemon Go consists of Iron Tail as a Fast Move and Heavy Slam as a Charged Move.
Mega Steelix is both Ground and Steel-type, meaning Earthquake and Heavy Slam will both yield damage and get a STAB bonus. Per Pokemon Go DB, the Iron Tail/Earthquake and Iron Tail/Heavy Slam combos have the exact same DPS (13.00) and TDO (604.8). However, Heavy Slam requires less Energy can be used more often than Earthquake.
