Therian Forme Thundurus is returning to Pokemon Go alongside fellow Forces of Nature Legendaries. If you’re planning on adding it to your team, here’s this Gen V best moveset, as well as the answer to how good it can be in battle.
Pokemon Go has kicked off 2024 with a great first-month Raid rotation, which brings back to the game three of the Forces of Nature quartet in their Therian Formes.
These Legendary Pokemon will be available in 5-star Raid battles at different times of the month, with Therian Forme Thundurus being at the player’s disposal from January 17, 2024, until January 24, 2024, while Therian Forme Tornadus takes the previous week, and Therian Form Landorus the following.
The dual Electric/Flying-type creature has an attack-base spread of 295 (ATK), 161 (DEF), and 188 (STAT), and can reach a max CP value of 3659 in Pokemon Go. Therian Forme Thundurus is vulnerable to Rock and Ice-type moves, however it’s resistant to Ground, Fighting, Flying, Bug, Steel, and Grass-type attacks.
Here’s everything you need to know to make this Legendary’s version a fierce contender in both the Battle League and Raids.

Volt Switch is unquestionably the monster’s best Fast Move. The attack not only dishes out decent damage (3.6), but its ability to generate energy fast makes it a no-brainer. This should always be paired off with Thunderbolt, which is a great nuke move (108 damage) that doesn’t require an insane amount of energy (55) at two bars.

Is Therian Forme Thundurus any good in Pokemon Go?
While Therian Forme Thundurus can’t be picked for Great League, it can participate in both Ultra and Master Leagues in Pokemon Go, though it’s not good at either.
Fans of the Black & White Legendary that are set on taking it into Ultra League should absolutely spend the time saving up Stardust to unlock Focus Blast as a second move, as its Fighting-type gives it more counter spread and makes it more viable against various ‘mon. However, Therian Forme Thundurus is at a major disadvantage in Master League due to its poor defense.
Luckily for fans, this creature is incredibly powerful in Raids as well as Gym battles thanks to its high Attack stat. While some may be tempted to use Thunder due to its incredible nuke power, we would recommend against it. Trainers should stick to Volt Switch and use Thunder Bolt, as the combo does an insane amount of damage while also being quick to pull off.
