What are Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Go?
Mega Evolutions are a temporary form some Pokemon can take that greatly increases their combat power, while keeping their HP intact. Additionally, some of them can even experience a type switch when they Mega Evolve.
The effect lasts for 8 hours, and while players can use their Mega Evolutions to battle Raids, Gyms, and other trainers, they cannot be left to defend Gyms, participate in the Battle League, or be traded or powered up.
It’s worth noting that the mechanic requires players to gather a specific amount of Mega Energy from Mega Raids or Special Research Tasks in order to trigger the Mega Evolution.
The first time you Mega Evolve a Pokemon the amount of Mega Energy required will be high, but the more you use this mechanic, the cheaper it will become.
