A recurring Pokemon Go glitch makes Primeape look like it’s about to evolve into a much cuter form than its actual evolution.
Pokemon Go has its fair share of glitches, but it’s nowhere near as infamous for them as the mainline games. This is because so many of the iconic Pokemon glitches happened in an era before patching, while Pokemon Go’s can be quickly fixed with an update.
In the case of Pokemon Go, most of its glitches affect the visuals, with the UI and the character sprites being jumbled or showing incorrect data. There are rare instances of moves being glitched in Pokemon Go, but they’re the exception.
Pokemon Go recently introduced Annihilape to the game, along with an unusual evolution requirement for Primeape that involves using it as a Buddy. This also created a glitch involving Primeape’s evolutionary line in Pokemon Go.
Pokemon Go glitch with Primeape into Wigglytuff
A user on the PokemonGoMystic Reddit page has shared an example of the Primeape evolution image glitch. In this case, the Primeape is undergoing a major change, as it appears to be evolving into the cute and cuddly Wigglytuff.

“Primeape after anger management classes,” one user joked, while another said, “Went from “looks like it would kill you, would kill you” to “looks like a cinnamon roll, would kill you.”
The problem isn’t just restricted to Primeape’s sprite. “Currently Annihilape kinda broke my game, I didn’t see him when evolving him, he was just a shiny spot,” one user wrote, “Can’t see him anywhere and he bugged my buddy, can’t swap him out he is stuck there…”
It’s unclear exactly why these issues affect Annihilape so badly, but they affect various aspects of the game. The strange evolution method may be involved, or maybe it has something to do with such an old Pokemon being given a new evolution.
Regardless, Niantic needs to do something soon, as Annihilape is a popular Pokemon for competitive battles in Pokemon Go. Many people want to unleash the Fighting/Ghost-type Pokemon, so it will need its glitches fixed, even the ones that make it cuter.
