Pokemon Go features many tiny creatures that evolve into powerful monsters, such as Beldum. Here are details on whether it can be found as a Shiny and how to catch it in the mobile game.
The Iron Ball Pokemon has been popular among fans since it debuted in Gen 3’s Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. This is in large part because of its powerful evolutionary line turning it into Metang and eventually Metagross, which is a strong pseudo-Legendary with a solid dual-type combination.
Trainers may be wondering how to get this tiny powerhouse and whether or not it can be Shiny in Pokemon Go. So, let’s break down every detail you need to know about finding Beldum in the mobile game.
How to get Beldum in Pokemon Go
Currently, the only two ways players can get Beldum is by finding it in the wild or by trading it with another player.
Even though it has a low spawn rate, Beldum will appear more often during its Community Day Classic event, which will take place on August 18, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM local time.
Previously, Beldum could be encountered in 1-Star Raid battles, hatched from all Egg sizes, or rescued from Team GO Rocket leader Sierra. An encounter with this tiny creature was rewarded for completing several Research Tasks, too.
Can Beldum be Shiny in Pokemon Go?
Yes, Beldum can appear as a Shiny in Pokemon Go. Shiny Beldum made its debut in Pokemon Go back in February of 2021, meaning it has been available to catch for three years now.
Shiny Beldum certainly is striking thanks to its silver sheen and golden claws that clearly differentiate it from its regular form, and some players might find it during the event thanks to its increased spawn rates.

How to evolve Beldum into Metang and Metagross in Pokemon Go
To evolve Beldum into Metang, you’ll have to feed it 25 Candy. To evolve Metang into its final stage, Metagross, you’ll need another 100 Candy.
Since you’ll need a lot of Beldum Candy, be sure to take advantage of 1-Star Raids when available. You can also use Pinap Berries to increase how much Candy you get from a catch.

Beldum is a Steel/Psychic-type Pokemon, which gives it resistances to over half the types in the game. It’s great defensive typing, but since Beldum’s moveset is quite limited, you’ll want to evolve it as soon as possible.
