Legendary Giratina Origin Forme is one of the best fighters for Pokemon Go due to its powerful offensive and killer moveset. Here’s how to get one in Niantic’s mobile game and whether or not it can be Shiny.
The Creation Trio made up of Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina, was introduced with Gen 4’s Sinnoh region, and they are one of the few Legendary groups where all their Pokemon members have alternative forms.
Dual Ghost/Dragon-type Giratina sits in the top 15 beasts to use in the highly competitive Master League, so it’s expected for players to try and find one with perfect IVs now that it’s coming back to the game due to the Max Out season events.
How to get Origin Forme Giratina
As with many other Legendaries, there’s only one way you can encounter Origin Forme Giratina in Pokemon Go, and that is as a 5-star Raid Boss.
Due to there being so many Legendary Pokemon in the game, players must wait for the Raid rotations to see if Origin Forme Giratina is making a comeback.
Luckily, Origin Forme Giratina is returning to Pokemon Go from October 14, 2024, until October 28, 2024, when it will be replaced by Darkrai. More so, it will be featured in two Raid Hours, one on October 16 and the other on October 23.

Can Origin Forme Giratina be Shiny in Pokemon Go?
Yes, Origin Forme Giratina can be Shiny, as this variation was introduced to the game in 2020.
Players will get the chance to find a Shiny Origin Forme Giratina in both 5-Star Raid battles and during the Pokemon’s time in Raid Hour. This variation can be recognized mainly by its mustard body and turquoise rings.
It’s worth noting that there’s no way to increase the odds of finding a Shiny Pokemon, but the more Raids you do, the more chances you’ll get.
