How to get Mareanie in Pokemon Go
There are two ways to encounter Mareanie in Pokemon Go:
- As a wild encounter.
- As a reward for completing Field Research or Special/Timed Research tasks
You can always use Incense or Lure Modules to increase your chances of encountering a Mareanie in the wild. During the Spotlight Hour on May 28, 2024, Mareanie will spawn more often from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM local time, so you’ll have plenty of chances to catch it and stack up on its Candy.
This weird-looking creature is also available by completing Field Research Tasks such as “Defeat 2 Team GO Rocket Grunts: Taken Treasures” or the Special Research Task “World of Wonders – 3rd part: Catch 30 Pokemon”.
Previously, players were able to find Mareanie as a Tier 1 Raid boss or inside 5 km Eggs.
Can Mareanie be Shiny in Pokemon Go?
Yes, players will be able to find Shiny Mareanie in Pokemon Go, as this variation is set to debut in the game at the start of the Ultra Space Wonders event on May 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM local time.
Shiny Mareanie can be spotted easily as its turquoise and purple body turns pink entirely. The release of this variation means that Shiny Toxapex will also become available, as you’ll be able to get it through the evolution method.
