Skrelp can be found swimming in the dark waters of the Kalos region, but how common are they in Pokemon Go, and can you catch their Shiny form?
Skrelp is a Poison/Water-type Pokemon that debuted in Pokemon X & Y, along with its evolution, Dragalge, which switches it to a Poison/Dragon-type Pokemon.
While Skrelp didn’t leave much of an impression on the Pokemon competitive battling scene, its evolution did. Draglage had powerful defensive stats and a typing that made it ideal for entry hazards & status effects, making it useful in certain teams.
Fans of the Poison/Water-type ‘Mon may wonder where they can find it in Pokemon Go. We will explain everything we know about the Kalos character’s presence in the game, how to catch it, and information about its Shiny form.

Can Skrelp be Shiny in Pokemon Go?
Yes, Skrelp can be Shiny in Pokemon Go. Players are more likely to encounter a Shiny Skrelp during the Lunar New Year 2024 event. Otherwise, it has the standard Shiny encounter rate in Pokemon Go.
In terms of Shiny colors, Skrelp’s regular brown and pink body changes are replaced with a blue and purple one, and while the shift is subtle, it’s definitely more aesthetically pleasing than the base version of the Pokemon.
