As the next Pokemon games have been revealed, and tease the return of the fan-favorite Mega Evolution feature, players are already scared of one Pokemon’s possible return.
During the Pokemon Presents Showcase for February 2024, Game Freak and The Pokemon Company revealed Pokemon Legends Z-A, a new entry in the ‘Legends’ franchise set to take part entirely in Lumiose City from Pokemon X and Y’s Kalos.
This generation is notable for being the first 3D entry, arriving on the 3DS, but also for having one of the most popular, and broken, battle mechanics to ever grace the franchise.
Mega Evolution allowed trainers to make even third-stage evolution Pokemon even stronger, in temporary transformations that only lasted as long as the battle. Yes, a bit like Digimon. Well, now we know it’s returning, a former Pokemon VG world champ is already terrified of one Pokemon’s return.
Pokemon VG Champion Wolfey teases Mega Incineroar domination
Pokemon fans are already going wild for the recent announcement of Pokemon Legends Z-A, and the return of Mega Evolution is one of the hottest topics. Though nothing is confirmed, the return to Kalos – where Mega Evolution originated – as well as a flash of the Mega Evolution symbol makes the feature sure to return.
One person talking about this is previous Pokemon VG World Champion and Pokemon content creator Wolfey, who is known for – alongside many different accolades – their love/hate relationship with Incineroar. This is mostly down to how strong the Pokemon is, and its need to be included in most teams.

Wolfey shared a post to X shortly after the Pokemon Presents, breaking down their theory explaining why Pokemon Legends Z-A might include the Pokemon, saying, “There’s a 1/5 chance we get Mega Incineroar…”

Plenty of other Pokemon players are sharing their thoughts in the comments below, with a mixture of excitement and fear, with one comment saying, “DON’T YOU DARE SPEAK THINGS INTO EXITENCE.”
Another comment asks the very reasonable question, “How could he get any more buffs???” While another adds, “Now I’m gonna have nightmares of mega Incineroar.”
Currently, the Pokemon Legends Z-A release date is set for 2025, so there’s plenty of time to speculate, and even more time for Game Freak to think up ways to make Incineroar even more broken in competitive play.
