Pokemon Go players are offering advice to players without a local community, as it’s nearly impossible for them to complete high-level Raids on their own.
Pokemon Go is a community game where players are expected to go out into the world and enjoy it together. But what if you live in a rural area where there are no active players, and you have to face the Pokemon Go challenges on your own?
This situation is made more difficult by timed events, such as the recent Enamorus Elite Raids, which could only be completed during specific hours. These can be challenging enough with a group of friends but are nearly impossible on your own.
It’s always possible to spoof your location, but that could result in your Pokemon Go account being banned. As such, some Pokemon Go players have to use other means for hooking up with active trainers to take on the big events.
“Friendless” Pokemon Go players need help
A user on the Pokemon Go Reddit has created a thread asking how they’re expected to complete high-level Shadow Legendary Pokemon Raid battles when they have no friends to play with. Other users arrived in the thread to offer their advice.

“Try checking to see if there’s a local discord group for your area,” one player advised, “They usually organize raid trains on there. You can introduce yourself and tag along then you’ll have people to do future raids with as well. I just picked pogo back up recently and started off the year with no one to raid with, a month later I’m raiding with 10-20 ppl.”
“Campfire, local discords, move to NYC,” one player wrote, while another said, “Do you have extra phones ?? If you do make extra accounts so you can play this types of raids.”
A lot of people suggested Pokemon Go’s Campfire feature. “Campfire is actually really helpful,” one user said, “I signed up for a meeting that was happening today and got a shiny one! I recommend it!”
Ultimately, you don’t need to player with others to enjoy Pokemon Go. The game has enough solo content to keep players engaged for hundreds of hours. It’s just a shame that there aren’t better options for those without access to a local community, as it prevents them from engaging with high-end content.
