The final evolutions for some pocket monsters in Pokemon Go leave a lot to be desired, according to players.
Evolving Pokemon in POGO serves as a key part of the experience. An evolution can significantly increase the power of a mon by raising its CP and HP levels. As such, having such creatures in their collection is a boon for all Trainers.
But improved power levels hardly constitute the only benefit to evolving Pokemon. They change in appearance, too, some of them to a drastic degree. For instance, the adorable Charmander looks miniscule against its evolved, dragon-like Charizard form.
However, players think some evolutions in Pokemon Go don’t change enough physical characteristics.
Pokemon Go fans say certain final evolutions are disappointing
Reddit user cktyu posed the following question on the Pokemon Go subreddit, “Which Pokémon have anticlimactic final evolutions?”
The user picked Pawmot as their personal choice and shared a screenshot of the creature’s final evolved form. They explained, “I was expecting Pawmot to evolve into something like Ursaluna or Charizard.”

Notably, Pawmot represents the fully evolved form of Pawmi, a cute little electric-type Pokemon that resembles a marmot ground squirrel. To the chagrin of some players, Pawmot looks like a more grown-up – albeit still adorable – version of its original form.
Dozens of other people joined the conversation to share their two bits about some of Pokemon Go’s disappointing final evolutions. For instance, a Redditor invoked a GTA 5 joke to comment on the Pawmot evolution, “Took 2 evolutions to stand up properly and get a yeeyee a** haircut smh.”
One user called out the Chansey transformation, writing, “Anticlimactic from [a] looks perspective – shiny Chansey into shiny Blissey.” Others agreed, writing the evolution off as a “disappointment.”
Someone else said Klink’s eventual change to Klinklang proved unsatisfactory. “Klink disappointed me a whole bunch. I was really excited to see what it would turn into,” the user stated.
Clearly, some final evolutions will come up short when it’s all said and done.
