Gible has been confirmed as the Pokemon Go Community Day headliner for June, 2021. That’s not all, either, as Garchomp’s Pokemon Go moveset is about to change with an exclusive Earth Power move.
After Swablu, who will be the star of the show in May, comes Gible – the first in the evolution line that leads to the almighty Salamence.
There had been speculation that the developers may turn to a Fairy-type, following on from the Xerneas Luminous Legends X event in May, though now there are no questions to be answered in that regard.
When’s the next Community Day in Pokemon Go?
Gible has been confirmed as the next Community Day headliner, taking place on June 6, 2021.
The event will take place between 11am to 5pm local time, no matter where you are in the world. The news was confirmed on May 7, 2021 by the official Pokemon Go App Twitter account.

How to prepare for Gible Community Day in June
If you’re looking to take part in the Gible Community Day event, there’s a few things you can do to prepare.
- Get as many Pokecoins as you can in Pokemon Go!
- Spend your Pokecoins on at least two Incenses!
- Bring many Poke Balls with you!
- Collect as much Pokemon Candy as you can for Gible, so you can evolve it!
Gible Exclusive move: Garchomp Earth Power Pokemon Go
In a blog post on May 20, Niantic confirmed a new exclusive Community Day move. If you evolve Gible’s evolution, Gabite, into Garchomp, it will learn the Earth Power attack.
Players will also have two hours after the Day ends to evolve their Gabite too, meaning if you somehow miss doing it during the event, you’ve at least got some time to get the exclusive move.

Community Day Box
There will be a special Community Day Box available to buy for 1,280 PokéCoins, for the Gible event. It will feature the following:
- 50 Ultra Balls
- Five Incense
- Five Lucky Eggs
- Elite Charged TM
Just a Nibble Special Research story
There will also be a new Community Day exclusive Special Research Story, called Just a Nibble in Pokemon Go.
Tickets will be made available for the event, and those will be $1 each (or equivalent in your local currency).
For US$1 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access the Gible Community Day-exclusive Special Research story, Just a Nibble. This Special Research will not include an in-game medal, but it’s certainly something for fans to look out for.
Shiny Gible Pokemon Go catch rate and Shiny odds
For Pokemon Go Community Day events, the catch rates for Headliner Pokemon are increased. The same goes for the Shiny catch rate.
Shiny Pokemon are the rarest form in-game, and many Trainers have credited Community Days for their successful encounters. Maybe this time, you’ll grab a Shiny Gible as part of the action! There’s also a 3x Catch XP bonus, so make sure you’re catching as many as you can.
Gible Community Day Special Research
As usual, there is a set of optional Special Research tasks for the Gible Community Day. Called “Just a Nibble”, it costs $1 USD in the in-game Shop.
The list of tasks and rewards haven’t been revealed yet, but we’ll update once we know more.
