Pokemon Go player posts pro tip to help with frustrating medal
Originally appearing in this Reddit post, Pokemon Go player EriksenTheKing shared that the ongoing Horizons event was an ideal way to work on the Platinum Cameraman medal in the game, calling the usual process of obtaining it “really tedious”.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Platinum Cameraman medal, it requires you to get photobombed 400 times when using the Snapshot feature to take a picture of a Pokemon.

This process can take a long, long time – but the Pokemon Horizons event means that characters pop up a lot more frequently. While this event is ongoing (until March 11th), Liko and Roy from Horizons will pop up while you’re taking a picture in Snapshot mode.
Other Pokemon Go players were delighted with the piece of advice, thanking the original poster for reminding them to work on the medal. One player commented, “You’re a genius” while another said, “Thank you. I would have forgotten if you hadn’t mentioned it.”
Players were clearly thrilled about not having to grind out the Platinum Cameraman medal for so long – and who can blame them? One person commented, “Nearly 10% towards the 400 is extremely generous from Niantic, low key the most useful thing in this event”.
