Pokemon Go players are sharing the rare but “useless” pocket monsters that they’ve collected for their Pokedex.
Over the years, Niantic’s mobile adventure has become home to numerous rare Pokemon spanning from Gen 1 through Gen 9. Some have proven far easier to capture than others.
And, admittedly, a few of these creatures may not be worth the hassle in the end, either because of below-average defense and attack scores or other factors.
Not every Pokemon Go player has the heart to give up on their ‘mon, though, even if they have no real value. Such a discussion is currently making the rounds on the PoGo subreddit.
Pokemon Go fans share their rare but “useless” ‘mon
A PoG0 player recently posed the following question to the game’s Reddit community, “What’s your most useless, but incredibly rare Pokémon?”
They contributed their own answer to the conversation, pointing out a Shedinja they’ve had for some time. “It’s a cool novelty, but that’s all it is. It’s also my only Shundo,” the Redditor explained.

As one would expect, several Pokemon Go players chimed in with the rare yet useless creatures in their possession. One person mentioned their “Nundo lvl1 costume pikachu.” Another user said their hundo diggersby sits in a similar rank.
Delibird got some love in the comments as well, with one fan writing, “Probably my perfect delibird, absolutely useless but still neat.”
A different Redditor argued that their pick probably trumps everyone else’s. “I think I got everyone beat here. Got a hundo male combee. Can’t even evolve it,” they said of the flying insectoid.
At the very least, it’s good to know these otherwise useless Pokemon are being appreciated.
