A Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainer showed off how they crushed 7-Star Tera Raid Venusaur with Magikarp as the main attacker.
In celebration of Pokemon Day, Game Freak has introduced yet another 7-Star Tera Raid to Scarlet & Violet.
This Tera Raid features Venusaur the Unrivaled, who’s certainly no slouch. Boasting the Ground Tera Type, Venusaur the Unrivaled knows powerful moves like Earth Power, Solar Beam, and Sunny Day.
However, despite the might of Venusaur the Unrivaled, one player managed to think up a strategy that allowed them to know this titan out in just one hit with a Magikarp.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet fan wrecks 7-Star Venusaur with Magikarp
The trainer, who goes by the username Nommable123 on the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet subreddit, made a post titled, “Magikarp OHKO vs Venusaur the Unrivaled.”
There, they detailed the strategy and setup they used to pull off this impressive task.
The trainer used a squad consisting of a Thunderus holding the Covert Cloak, a Golduck with a Zoom Lens, a Medicham with a Covert Cloak, and a Magikarp holding the Metronome.

Golduck’s Cloud Nine ability negated Venusaur’s weather effects, which hampers much of the Raid boss’ strategy. Next, Thundurus used Eerie Impulse three times to lower Venusaur’s Special Attack to negative five.
The Golduck used Screech three times to lower Defense to -6, while Medicham set up a Def Cheer and a Light Screen to help survivability.
After that, Venusaur reset each Pokemon’s stats and set up a Defensive Shield. Thundurus then used Swagger on Magikarp three times to get it to plus six Attack.
Magikarp then used Flail on its teammates to build up Tera Charge, as attacking Venusaur would disqualify this from being a OHKO challenge.
Following the friendly-fire Flail, Medicham used Skill Swap to give Magikarp Pure Power, and the supporting team members used Heal Cheer, Attack Cheer, and Helping Hand to provide buffs.
Finally, the supporting team members attack Magikarp to get Flail to do as much damage as possible. The trainer then Terastalized Magikarp and used Flail to knock out 7-Star Venusaur in just one hit.
