Pokemon TCG Pocket has plenty to do. From collecting all the cards, battling other players, and of course, taking part in all the active events.
Whether you’re opening booster packs, joining PvP matches, completing daily tasks, or crafting your own cards, it’s easy to get wrapped up in Pokemon TCG Pocket. Especially when more tasks, cards, and free rewards are added through the game’s many active events.
So, to ensure you get the most out of the game, here are all the current Pokemon TCG Pocket events, what’s coming up, and what came before.
All current Pokemon TCG Pocket events
Currently, as of January 7, there are four active events in Pokemon TCG Pocket, focusing on the release of the Mythical Island expansion, the New Year, the powerful Blastoise, and the first Wonder Pick of the year.
Wonder Pick January 2025
- Duration: January 7, 2025 – January 21, 2025
- Rewards: Charmander Promo Card, Squirtle Promo Card
Pokemon TCG Pocket is giving out more highly anticipated Promo cards via the new Wonder Pick event that’s running through January 2025, offering alternate versions of two iconic Kanto starter ‘Mons as well as some Bonus Picks.

Blastoise Drop Event
- Duration: December 31, 2024 – January 14, 2025
- Rewards: 15 Event Hourglasses, 41 Wonder Hourglasses, 20 Pack Hourglass, Promo Pack A Series Vol. 3, 600 Shinedust, 8 Shop Ticket
Bringing people into epic PvE battles, players are given the chance to battle it out against Blastoise. Naturally, wins are rewarded with the likes of Hourglasses, and potentially some Promo Packs depending on the level of challenge you choose to complete.

New Years Event
- Duration: December 31, 2024 – January 7, 2025
- Rewards: 24 Pack Hourglass, 4 Mythical Island booster packs, Pikachu promo card, 24 Wonder Hourglass, New Year Frame
To mark the new year, Pokemon TCG is hosting a New Years Event, allowing players to grab some free booster packs, Hourglasses, backdrops, and a promo card by logging in, taking part in battles, thanking players, using stamina, and completing Wonder Picks.

Mythical Island Emblem Event
- Duration: December 20 – January 10, 2025
- Rewards: 24 Pack Hourglasses, 3,850 Shinedust
To celebrate the release of Mythical Island, players can take part in versus battles to grab Pack Hourglasses and Shinedust, as well as a few Emblems. However, you’ll have to win 50 times to grab all its rewards.

Upcoming events
Trading
- Duration: January 2025
As confirmed by the game’s roadmap, January 2025 will see the highly requested addition of trading, allowing players to trade cards with friends. Unfortunately, we don’t have a date for this addition yet, but when it’s added, we’ll be sure to update this article.
New Expansion
- January 2025
Along with the announcement of trading, a new expansion is scheduled to arrive in Pokemon TCG Pocket in January 2025. There have been no details released about the cards, theme, or date it’ll arrive, but when new information is revealed, we’ll update this page.

| Pokemon TCG Pocket Wonder Pick Event Part 2 | December 6 – December 20 | Take part in Wonder Picks in order to earn Event Shop Tickets, which can then be turned into card sleeves, playmats, coins, icons, and of course, Shinedust. |
| Venusaur Drop event | November 29 – December 13 | Participate in solo battles to earn the full art Venusaur card as well as Greninja, Haunter, Onix and Jigglypuff promo cards. |
| Fire Pokemon Mass Outbreak Event (Arcanine) | November 22 – November 28 | A Wonder Pick event featuring Fire-type Pokemon, including Arcanine ex, along with additional rewards. |
| Genetic Apex Emblem Event | November 7 – November 28 | Participate in PvP battles against other players to earn special Emblems as well as other rewards. |
| Lapras EX event | November 5 – November 18 | Complete solo battles against Water decks to get the ex Lapras card and other rewards. |
| Wonder Pick Event 1 (Meowth and Chansey) | November 1 – November 15 | Participate in Wonder Pick to earn Shop Tickets that can be exchanged for various rewards. |
As these are limited-time, you’ll want to ensure you have the best decks to help you out, familiarize yourself with Wonder Picking, and even learn more about how to farm free packs. Who knows, you might pull some extremely rare cards along the way.
