Remote Raid Pass celebration features returning legends in Pokemon Go

PokePans

Niantic are celebrating the introduction of the Remote Raid Pass by bringing some familiar legends back to Pokemon Go. The returning Legendary Pokemon include Darkrai, Altered Forme Giratina and Virizion.

Many had thought the next Legendary species to feature in five-star Raid Battles following Landorus would have been a new Pokemon. Kyurem seemed the most logical, although some trainers thought Reshiram and Zekrom might come first. That has proved not to be, though.

Instead we will get Darkrai, Giratina-A and Virizion in each of the next respective three weeks. To kick the event off you can check out our Pokemon Go Darkrai Raid guide.

Darkrai is actually a Mythical Pokemon and is returning to Raid Battles for the third time…

The full schedule is as follows:

  • Darkrai: Tuesday, April 28, 1pm to Tuesday, May 5, 1pm PDT (GMT −7)
  • Altered Forme Giratina: Tuesday, May 5, 1pm to Tuesday, May 12, 1pm PDT (GMT −7)
  • Virizion: Tuesday, May 12, 1pm to Tuesday, May 19, 1pm PDT (GMT −7)

Maybe that means we can expect the next Legendary Pokemon release on May 19.

Raid Battles Remote Play@PokemonGoApp
Who’d have thought it – Raid Battles can now be played remotely…

Remote Raid Passes

Niantic promised trainers that they’d be able to play Raid Battles remotely and now they have delivered. Remote Raid Passes went live for all trainers on April 27.

Each Remote Raid Pass costs 100 PokeCoins but you can also purchase three of them for a discounted 250. That’s not all however, as to introduce them to the Pokemon Go world you can buy three of them for a one-off purchase of just one PokeCoin.

A lot of scheduled five-star Raid Battles don’t have anyone participating in them because players know how tough they can be. Trainers don’t want to waste a Premium Raid Pass only for nobody else to show up. After all, some of the harder Legendary Pokemon require at least four trainers to take down.

Hopefully the Remote Raid Passes will change that whereby they will be more accessible to more people. If you use them wisely, you might be able to get each of Darkrai, Altered Forme Giratina and Virizion over the next three weeks.
