A lot of trainers claim to be the best, and now you can prove it. Niantic are adding a GO Battle League leaderboard so you finally show off your rankings!
GO Battle League switches over from Ultra League to Master League on Friday, April 10, and that’s when the leaderboards will become available. You’ll be able to access them at the Pokemon Go Live website.
Previously, trainers could only share their rank and battle rating. Other than someone sharing it with you, there was no way to see it for yourself either. Now there is no hiding – you are either at the top or you’re not.
How the leaderboard will work
The leaderboard won’t show every trainer’s rating. Instead, it’ll show the top five hundred trainers in the world, their nicknames, Pokemon teams, ranks, ratings, and total matches. It will also only show trainers rank 7 and above.
The rankings shown are “based on the previous day’s in-game ratings.” Presumably this confirms any matches that occurred before the previous day won’t be taken into account.
It will update daily between 8pm and 10pm UTC (1pm to 3pm PDT). Pokemon Go players will be delighted to know that “trainers with active disciplinary action or inappropriate Trainer nicknames will be excluded without prior notice.”

Celebration bonus
To celebrate the introduction of leaderboards, there will be a GO Battle Day: Marill on Sunday, April 12. The event will feature Marill (surprise, surprise) and activities related to GO Battle League.
From 11am to 2pm local time on that day, Marill will be a guaranteed reward for your first and third wins in any given set. If using a Premium Pass for your rewards the dual fairy and water type will appear after every victory.
It is certainly worth getting because Azumarill is one of, if not the, best Pokemon to have in the Great League category.
April 12 is also a great day to dedicate to playing GO Battle League as you’ll be able to play up to 20 sets – or 100 battles. This is in comparison to the usual five.
So, make the most of it trainers and try and get yourself somewhere on those leaderboards!
