A Pokemon player’s classical guitar rendition of the Driftveil theme from Pokemon Black & White has garnered the attention of the community.
Pokemon fan and guitarist Harley Guio covers popular Pokemon themes from the video game series, and their latest is the Driftveil City theme on guitar. The theme originally appeared in the Pokemon Black & White games released in 2010.
Fans said that Guio was able to do the “impossible” in transposing and then playing the “wacky” song on the classical guitar.
Guitarist transposes multiple Pokemon themes
Lovers of Pokemon theme music called the video “fire” and complimented his skills. “This couldn’t have been easy to work out.”
Although, some fans were disappointed after the link to the guitarist’s work didn’t work in their region. However, the artist’s YouTube channel has several other full-length Pokemon tunes available.
Among these are the Driftveil City theme, themes from the Johto Region in Pokemon, and the Violet City theme.

His rendition of the Ecruteak theme especially caught the ears of viewers. A nostalgic gamer said it was their “favorite rendition of this piece. Thank you, man; it makes it feel like I’m at the beach in Cianwood every time.”
Fans called his Violet City theme “a wonderful arrangement.” Guio also posts tablature and sheet music for the themes he transposes.
For those who don’t know, tablature is a simplified version of sheet music that details the frets and notes on guitar frets for those who can’t read sheet music.
Guio takes requests for themes from different games, but he doesn’t stop there. He also covers themes from One Piece, Super Smash Bros., and the Legend of Zelda.
Pokemon fans love these popular themes from the older games. Most recently, they were enthused when the Route 6 Unova theme was among the nostalgic throwbacks included in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
