The famous Twitch Plays Pokemon series has (unofficially) evolved. A creator on TikTok has brought the idea to life via the platform’s live-stream service.
Back in February 2014, a creator began a Twitch stream with his own custom-made bot that allowed viewers to control the Pokemon game. It quickly went viral, breaking world records, and even won an award for ‘best fan creation’ later that year.
Needless to say, ‘Twitch Plays Pokemon’ went down in the books as one of the most popular streams on the platform to date.
Now, a creator by the name of ‘i_haskill’ has brought his own rendition of the popular game to TikTok and fans are loving it.
TikTok Plays Pokemon
On June 20, Haskill shared a video on TikTok that detailed the new bot that he created to allow viewers to play Pokemon on his live stream.
It said: “I set up a (mostly) functioning bot that will allow your comments to control the game. I will be live streaming it tonight, come try it out. Forget Twitch Plays Pokemon, we’re doing TikTok Plays Pokemon.”
It quickly went viral, with over 110k views in just 24 hours.

Unlike the original Twitch Plays Pokemon, Haskill only streamed his game for a few hours — but pledges to try to do it every night at the same time.
To make up for it, he posted a recap video the morning after his stream.

Haskill’s videos and streams haven’t gotten to the viral level of Twitch Plays Pokemon just yet, but with it being TikTok, it’s hard to tell what will happen with Haskill’s creation in the coming days.
