Paradise Dragona is Pokemon TCG’s latest Japanese set. The set has a strong summer theme, with new artwork and cards revealed.
Paradise Dragona was unveiled by The Pokemon Company via the official Japanese Pokemon TCG YouTube channel and it’ll be dropping in Japan on September 13. It’s a Japanese exclusive, so fans in other locations will need to find a reliable retailer to sort out the import process for them.
While a full card list isn’t available yet for Paradise Dragona, a new Stellar Tera-type Pokemon and ACE SPEC card have been unveiled. It’s already looking like Paradise Dragona will be packed to the brim with competitively viable cards, taking the Stellar Tera-type to new heights.
The announcement of a new Pokemon TCG set was received with excitement – along with a few concerns about release timings and featured Pokemon.
One ecstatic Pokemon fan on X was clearly hyped about the set theme, exclaiming, “I CANT SLEEP!!!! DRAGON CARDS INCOMING,” while another shared their love of Gen 7 Pokemon, saying, “Alolan Pokemon in the big 24 we love to see it.”
A Pokemon collector on the PokeBeach forum joked, “Round 2 of Evolving Skies, here we go,” referencing the iconic Sword & Shield era expansion set.

Others were focused on the specific cards revealed in the YouTube video – or lack thereof. A disappointed fan lamented, “Rayquaza or Giratina alt or it’s a big miss. There’s others that deserve it too! Tyrantrum, Kommo-O. I’d love to see Flygon. But also I can wait for Mega Flygon alt.”
Some Pokemon TCG collectors even shared their concerns about the breakneck speed of the Pokemon TCG release schedule. One referenced a rumored set and asked, “Wasn’t it just two weeks ago that we got Surging Sparks revealed??”
Whether you’re excited about Dragon-type cards and Stellar Pokemon or not, Paradise Dragona is looking like a crucial expansion set for players to pay attention to. Stellar Pokemon hold the potential to mitigate a lot of popular decks in the current format, and they’re valuable pieces for collectors, too.
