Where to find Togepi in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Pokemon Sword and Shield ditched a good portion of the National Pokedex, but that doesn’t mean all of the former Pokemon are gone, as Togepi makes a return – and here’s where you can find one.

While Togepi is one of the rarest Pokemon out there, its popularity dates all the way back to the Indigo League arc of the anime, where one was famously carried around by gym leader Misty.

Togepi is arguably the cutest Pokemon across any generation, so getting one is always a priority for players – especially if filling out the Pokedex is also one of their main goals.

This rare Pokemon is available in both Sword and Shield, so it won’t matter what version of the game fans own. But where exactly can they find these adorable critters?

Where to find Togepi

Pokemon / NintendoFoggy weather will be the best conditions to find Togepi.

The Bridge Field is where you’ll want to be if you’re looking to catch a Togepi, and this goes for both Sword and Shield. According to Serebii.net, you’ll have a 5% chance of finding one in foggy weather, and just a 2% chance to find it in normal and overcast conditions.

When you do find one, it’ll be between levels 26 and 28. This means you’ll need to spend plenty of time searching for one if you want to truly fill out your Pokedex.

How to evolve Togepi

Now that you have a Togepi in your possession, you might want to consider evolving it. Togepi doesn’t evolve like most other Pokemon, where you have you have to reach a certain level. Instead, Togepi can only be evolved by giving it a bunch of love.

Togepi will evolve into Togetic once it reaches 220 happiness, so make sure you keep it content. In fact, Togetic isn’t even Togepi’s final form, and you can evolve it one more time.

To evolve Togetic into Togekiss, you’ll have to use a Shiny Stone. It’s a nice 3-for-1 deal that will fill out a good chunk of your Pokedex with just one Pokemon.

While Togepi was able to make the cut for this game, many older ones didn’t and fans weren’t very happy with that decision. Currently, Pokemon Sword is sitting at a 4.1 user score on Metacritic, while critics were much kinder.

Despite the negative fan reception, sales have been great, so the outspoken fans didn’t seem to have much impact.
