According to viewers, the iconic Love Is Blind gold cups are just a way for production to get away with some extreme editing.
There are many elements of Love Is Blind that have become so iconic that they must continue each and every season.
For starters, there’s the pods, the infamous center of dating where the singles have no idea what their potential partner looks like (although some have been able to get past that rule).
Another LIB staple is the gold cups that all of the contestants use. They’ve become so popular that Netflix has started selling them to fans. But, these goblets might be more than nice-looking cups.
What are the Love Is Blind gold goblets used for?
On March 3, LIB viewers took to Reddit to slam the production team behind the show.

Specifically, they are accusing the crew of purposefully using solid gold goblets as a way of disguising how much is in each cup. Because of this seemingly minor detail, the editors are then able to cut and rework scenes without the error being caught on camera, like in Season 6 of Selling Sunset.
One fan wrote, “I think they are using the golden cups so that the audience doesn’t see how full or empty they are. This makes it possible to cut conversations the way you want without having continuity errors (the glass magically filling and emptying from scene to scene).”
Another fan chimed in and wrote, “In one scene you see him [ Jeramey ] gulp down the rest of his drink and a bit later you see him take a normal sip. No refilling or bottles nearby. Scenes reordered?”
Based on that logic, it would be no surprise if the gold goblets stuck around for quite a while longer.
