According to some fans, host Maya Jama should be replaced by text messages in Love Island: All Stars Season 1.
The host of the premiere season of Love Island: All Stars is none other than Maya Jama.
After presenting the past few seasons of Love Island UK, she’s gone on to also be at the forefront of Love Island Games. Needless to say, Maya has been the spokesperson for the franchise.
In the All-Stars season, she is in charge of announcing the challenges and coordinating the eliminations.
When not on-screen, the islanders receive text messages from production, alerting them when dumpings and other situations are about to go down. But, in the opinion of some viewers, the text messages do a better job of getting the storylines across than Maya does.
Love Island: All Stars-Maya Jama vs. text messages
On February 11, LI: All Stars viewers took to Reddit to share their distaste for how the host interacted with the islanders on-screen, to the point where they don’t seem to mind the idea of the host position being terminated from the show.
One fan wrote, “When she is in the Villa, she cannot say anything natural – it’s all fed into her earpiece. When she interviews the contestants all she does is get them to rehash what has already been shown to the public, there’s no depth or controversial questions. Does she really add anything?”

Another fan chimed in and wrote, “No offense to Maya, it’s just that I don’t care about the host of a reality TV [show]. She hasn’t much to do and takes away screentime for nothing.”
Maya hasn’t responded to the fan criticism as of yet. There has been no announcement on whether or not she is going to be a host within the LI franchise after this season.
