The Bachelor Season 28 contestant Rachel Nance responded to critics via Instagram after she received backlash from the rose ceremony on Episode 8.
Rachel Nance of The Bachelor Season 28 stood out as one of Joey Graziadei’s favorite contestants early on in the competition.
Though she’s been highlighted well by production, Rachel spoke out during the rose ceremony in Episode 8 when Maria Georgas asked to talk to Joey.
After receiving backlash, Rachel responded to critics by telling them to “touch grass.” Fans also took to Reddit to share their opinions.
Fans were just as “annoyed” with Maria during the rose ceremony
During Episode 8 of The Bachelor Season 28, Rachel was left standing beside three other women who hoped to receive a rose from Joey.
However, before Joey could give away his first rose, Maria asked if she could pull him aside and tell him she was falling in love with him, as she regretted not telling him when he visited Canada to meet her family.
After Maria walked back to stand with the remaining women, Rachel anxiously asked her why she asked Joey to talk and what it was about.

Though Rachel would go on to receive a rose, fans found her edit distasteful. Rachel has since responded to the critics via Instagram story, “Y’all touch grass or touch a plant, go center yourselves!”
Rachel continued, “We spread aloha on my page and that’s what I stand for! Thank you to those who are being kind and to those with opposing comments… I hope you heal from what you’re going through.”
Since the episode aired, fans of the show have taken to Reddit to express their thoughts, “I’m rooting for a Maria bachelorette season and even I was annoyed at her for doing that before the rose ceremony last night. Rachel didn’t say anything mean, she just asked what that was all about.”
While another added, “… frankly most girls from this season, if they were standing right next to Maria in that moment, would have asked the same thing.”
As for what’s to come on The Bachelor, Joey will have to decide which of the three women left is right for him. Fans can tune into next week’s episode at 8:00 PM EST on Monday on ABC.
