Roblox, a dynamic gaming platform, is always breaking new ground with its user-created content for online games. One such game is Pet Simulator X, which consistently ranks at the top of most played experiences.
With Pet Simulator X, created by the dedicated group at BIG Games, players are thrust into a fantastical world teeming with cute pets, thrilling quests, and limitless opportunities. The game’s premise is really straightforward – players are given a simple pet and tasked with expanding their collection through care and training.
While the creator of the game, Preston, and the entire team at Big Games have been very active in engaging players with their game, a recent social media drama has led them to be called hypocritical for sending DMCA notices for similar Roblox games.
Here’s everything you need to know about the drama and how the community responded.
Pet Simulator X creators Big Games under fire
Preston and his company, Big Games, have been criticized for sending numerous DMCAs to Roblox games that use the same blocky pet system as Pet Simulator X. Big Games states in the DMCA notice that the termination request sent to Chest Simulator featured blocky animals similar to their games and requested Roblox corporation to utterly take it down.
However, this strategy backfired for Big Games, as the player community accused them of hypocrisy for imitating the blocky creatures from Minecraft and other games.

Even popular content creator KreekCraft had a bit of criticism to share in their post, where they stated, “BIG Games sending DMCA requests to Roblox games with cube pets while also stealing textures from Roblox BedWars is very hypocritical.”
In concluding their thoughts on the matter, KreekCraft stated, “Preston definitely has an argument with a few of the pets, but this feels like a massive overstep of boundaries and ethics.” Consequently, users made the hashtag “Boycott BIG Games” trending on X.
Moreover, a number of players began creating memes regarding the use of the Roblox logo or even avatars during gameplay, anticipating that Big Games would also file DMCA claims against them.
Adding to the drama, Bespoke Plush INC has accused Big Games of failing to pay nearly $500,000 for the Pet Simulator plushies it produced for the game’s creators. However, Preston and others from Big Games argued that the payment had been made in full and that they are being falsely implicated.
While there is currently no clarity on this matter, the player community’s hatred of Big Games is expanding rapidly as a result of their DMCA drama involving smaller games attempting to ascend the Roblox metaverse.
However, Preston has attempted to justify his actions by publishing the official DMCA guidelines established by the platform for the creation of Roblox experiences inspired by others.
