Former United States Presidential Candidate Andrew Yang shared his opinion on Bowser mains in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in a recently-surfaced Twitter video.
The four-second video was uploaded by Twitter user GerbusMcJerbus who claims to be a Ness player in his bio. The clip features Yang in what appears to be some sort of terminal turning to the camera before claiming “all Bowser players are carried.”
Immediately thereafter, the individual filming Yang proclaims “you heard it here” before the video comes to an abrupt end.

“Not gonna lie Andrew Yang kept it really real on this,” a caption for the video reads.
It’s unclear if the person filming had requested Yang read a script or repeat the claim about Bowser players. However, it would be unlikely that any politician, especially one trying to become president would repeat words on camera without knowing what they mean.
Dexerto reached out to GerbusMcJerbus for comment, but did not hear back by press time.

That said, the Democrat does have a history playing competitive games and has on multiple occasions mentioned that he used to play StarCraft.
During an interview with h3h3’s Ethan Klein, the 45-year-old said he played a lot of the original StarCraft and its expansion Brood War.

For his part, Yang isn’t the first to throw shade at those who main the Mario antagonist. Nintendo Canada’s official Twitter account bashed Bowser players in January 2020 by uploading a series of side-slam plays.

Yang isn’t the only PC gamer turned politician either. Member of Congress Alexandria ‘AOC’ Ocasio-Cortez is known League of Legends fan. In 2019 the politician celebrated ranking up to Silver IV from Bronze V after she took a break from the game to campaign.
