The New Game Plus mode in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been finally rolled out, and some players have spotted one particular thing Insomniac missed with the new update.
It’s been almost five months since Insomniac Games released Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to the world and they finally rolled out the NG+ update on March 7, 2024. This update also includes additional features like mission replayability, Golden Gadget styles, a new Trophy to unlock, and plenty more.
However, several players have now found that Insomniac missed out on a crucial thing with the drop of the recent update.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 players point parry animations are still unchangeable
A player started a discussion on Reddit explaining that they’re “really happy with the new update so far” but were disappointed to find they “still can’t change the parry animations.” While a bunch of the community members feel the same, some have mentioned Insomniac missed out on more things.
One player said the devs “forgot a decent bit” other than different parry options. “Why isn’t symbiote surge changing suits when I don’t have the Story option applied?”, they continued. Some are frustrated with the idea that they’d have to wait more for further improvements: “So another 5 months?”

“Literally, no excuses, anymore. I was looking forward to the thunder weather option, but, nah… Ain’t happening.” some players complained as they felt the game was “evolving, just backwards.”
It seems that fans were really looking forward to changing weather conditions and deemed the lack of changes as “another disappointment” with “no storm night.” Some players were left utterly disappointed and felt they were better off waiting it out to “play it on pc in another 3-4 years.”
While a bunch of the community was unsatisfied, the new update lets players access a dev menu that accidentally leaked multiple spoilers, hinting there’s definitely more to come in the future.
