Erling Haaland’s misses against Chelsea were hugely uncharacteristic and potentially cost Manchester City a win in the title race.
The Norwegian has been phenomenal since joining City but endured a rare off day on a rainy Saturday evening at the Etihad.
Haaland headed a golden chance over in the first half and also miscued a volley in the second half when Chelsea were in front.
Although the chances were not gimmes, Haaland has set high standards at City and would have expected to end the match on the scoresheet.
Typically, X was filled with rival fans revelling in Haaland’s struggles, particularly Manchester United and Liverpool supporters.
One Liverpool fan wrote: “Haaland 3 big chances missed in a huge game for the title while Nunez scores,” while another said: “Why couldn’t Haaland just do this?” accompanied by a video of Nunez’s finish against Brentford earlier in the day.

Some United fans were even suggesting that they now have the best striker in Manchester in Rasmus Hojlund, who has scored in six of his last seven appearances for the Red Devils.
Haaland’s performance divided Fantasy Premier League enthusiasts after a record number of players triple-captained the City striker this week.
The Norwegian will have a chance to make amends in midweek when Brentford visit City and Blues boss Pep Guardiola is backing the forward to score.
“I played for 11 years and scored 11 goals,” Guardiola said. “One goal a season. I’m not a proper man to give advice to strikers. We create the chances and next time he’s going to score. I don’t blame him. As a team and a group, the first half was not like we are.”
